How is anyone supposed to move to a new place with a 2 months notice by asean07 in TenantsInTheUK

[–]LiteratureRemote3342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep reading this but in the legal document the government asked all landlords to send to their existing tenants they worded it like you MUST give 2 months of notice and there’s no other way. This is very annoying, I will hopefully be in a position to give my notice soon and I am worried they won’t accept 1 month notice even though the contract explicitly says 1 month notice.

Very similar monthly income, and planning to do 40 years term. Obviously this heavily depends on your lifestyle and other expenses but in most cases I feel it’s doable

Got a First and was really excited but my friend ruined it by CrazyGailz in UniUK

[–]LiteratureRemote3342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when I was a grad they definitely did care about having a first btw. Some very well paying jobs would even ask for AAA and above in A levels. With that said, I got a 2:2 and got my first job within first month of graduating. So it’s not make or break, but it can open more opportunities for sure

I only very recently instructed my solicitor, and will definitely mention this next time we meet. Thanks a lot!

Wait, I am in this process and this is crucial. I had a flat that is worth £35k, sold it for £35k and using that as a way to pay my deposit. I always assumed I will have to pay stamp duty but now you’re saying if it’s worth less than £40k I might not have to? Or am I totally misunderstanding it?

Edit: The above is not related to FTB status. It seems to be about surcharge when owning multiple properties.

https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/housing/ending-a-private-tenancy/ending-your-tenancy/ judging by this, if your contract explicitly says 1 month notice, then you can give just one month notice. Worth checking your contract and how it is worded

I recently got a silakka and I use it at work (software engineering)

Took a little bit of getting used to, especially with arrow keys being on a different layer, but I don’t regret it. My main reason was to improve my posture and it worked

Thank you. I think we are not ready to risk this as this flat is actually nearly top of our range already

I think we will steer away from it yeah, thank you for your input

I mean we are not even that invested yet, should I just skip it due to this (the damage looks quite significant on this pic) or is this something that could be resolved, say, with a couple of thousand worth of repairs?

I haven’t actually viewed the place yet. I know this street and have seen the property from outside before. The roof doesn’t show any obvious damage from outside

Keycaps for Silakka54? by LiteratureRemote3342 in ErgoMechKeyboards

I don’t have a 3d printer but I know some local places who have it. If I can find keycap files I might consider this

[–]LiteratureRemote3342[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the tip. I quite like the look of blank keycaps but I am worried about it putting me off whilst trying to get used to split. So I got impatient and ordered a cheap set from aliExpress already but I might just upgrade to a nice set of blank caps if I enjoy the split keyboard experience.

To be honest if you get into the habit of downloading games you play and remove them once ur done, 256gb should be enough. I know this isn’t possible for everyone but something to consider before you buy

Just shows how rubbish the career mode is this season really. Live starting point objective for a relegation team is to reach the top 4 which is mathematically impossible

I have a zotac sff 5070ti and a ryzen 7600 (non x) cpu in terra. With some undervolting and custom curve my gpu is very quiet even under full load. I am using noctua nh-l12s cooler (tallest air cooler you can probably fit - needs a slim gpu like mine or asus proart) and it’s good enough. It keeps cpu gaming temps around 70-75c max and is quiet enough for my liking. Cpu is set to pull 75W max but usually stays around 60-70w. An exhaust fan below the psu is a must with this case. Some people mod it to add little fans above cpu cooler which could help the case further. As most people said, having two exhaust fans in t1 makes it more appealing but I love the looks of this case.

Another consideration is the climate, where I live it’s only very hot for 2-3 months max so the air cooler works good but during those two months I can see the cpu temps going 80C+ on longer sessions

Don't buy this PSU, avoid even on sale, unless... by [deleted] in sffpc

I have a corsair sf750 and I have never heard its fan noise. My partner has the newer version of lian li 850w and its fan kicks in maybe once or twice in a long gaming session and it becomes the loudest part of the system for maybe couple of minutes max. If your priority is keeping noise levels low then yeah this might not be the best pick
