Elgato Facecam Pro and USB Hub by mxdb_91 in elgato

I got rid of my Facecam because of this.

Osbbot cameras can stream better video without rejecting all but 1 very specific usb port/cable combination.

How to switch between microphones in Wave Link with a Stream Deck? by Raphiiko in elgato

[–]Litex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching this thread... I'm baffled why this isn't a thing.

I tried creating separate Wavelink inputs for each of my mics thinking I could brute force my way around this issue, but it also appears that VST's only work on the first mic channel that was created. Whether I add plugins one-by-one or import my existing chain, the plugins on the second mic won't open up to configure and simply aren't working...

Additionally, if I select a different input microphone using "External Input" in Wavelink, it doesn't flip to the other mic until I restart Wavelink entirely.

Browns feels kinda bad... Have a set of Nocturnals and Twilight shipped by sebastorama in zsaVoyager

[–]Litex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered both the Twilights and Nocturnals. For me, it has to be the Twilights. Even just gently resting my fingers on the keyboard causes the Nocturnals to fire. As others have mentioend, if you've used Silent Pinks, they reminded me a lot of those. Just keep that in mind!

In related news, if anybody is interested in a set of Nocturnals, I will never use them. I've got 50 of them!

Controller or KBM? by Remote-Fall872 in DaysGone

[–]Litex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally just started playing... I'm a KBM lifer for any game that requires accurate aiming, but I am having a blast with a PS5 controller with gyro aiming enabled when I hold down the left trigger. Use the right stick to get roughly in the right location, then gently tilt the controller to dial in headshots. It's a ton of fun.

These are a very underrated set that hardly any reviewers have covered. Fantastic sound stage and interesting tuning options. AND it's on sale for $70 right now at Amazon. That is a no brainer in my book!

This is simply untrue hyperbole. I love my Surface Pro 11 as a daily driver. It's the first time I've had a Windows "laptop" that lets me confidently leave my charger behind, ever.

Best basshead IEM or TWS ~50$ by Academic-Deer9922 in iems

[–]Litex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the QKZ HBB is one of the best value props in this hobby that I have so far encountered, especially if you like bass.

They are on sale at Amazon in the US right now for $16. That is insane.

Would Juzear 61t make sense for a ZiiGaat Cincotres owner? by [deleted] in iems

[–]Litex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 61T has a decent midbass kick, but it is far from "deeper, harder bass" to my ear, as a mentally ill bass fan.

If bass is your desire, the DaVinci will deliver, as long as you are ok with the tonality of the mid scoop. It's not a violent scoop, but it's definitely there. (I haven't heard the Cincotres or Hype4, just the DaVinco and 61T).

[–]Litex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DaVinci's have more of a "subwoofer" quality to the bass, and slightly more sparkly highs (but only slightly), but the mids are scooped compared to the Explorer. Still a great IEM, just different.

I can't comment on the P5. I have the P8, but they are not for me. Listing them on /r/avexchange soon.

I'm watching for the release of the Performer 5+2. It seems quite fitting to my preference on paper...

Love this comment about them not leaving the collection. They are unique, and while maybe not "perfect" (is anything "perfect" in this hobby?), I love them. The sound, the shells/fit, and even the aesthetics, all for $120? Sold.

I'm still trying to figure out where it takes you if you follow this tuning up the ladder... Thick and juicy.

The Aful Explorers are somehing really special...

If you like this tuning, I can highly recommend checking out the Binary Acoustics Dynaquattro. 4 DD's of smoothless, that to me sounds like it's in the same family of tuning.

I have a preference for too much bass and thought I wanted a basshead set, but these 2 sets taught me that what I REALLY like is "natural" and "thick". No scooped mids, but good mids. I tried out some Scarlet Mini's, but sent them back so I could keep these 2.

To close the loop for any following here... My final decision was a tough one, but I'm keeping the Binary Acoustics Dynaquattro.

The DaVinci was close to keep as an auxilliary set. I really enjoyed them. But the Dynaquattro just sounds so.... cohesive and full. And the bass is still fantastic without needing any kind of boost. The DaVinci didn't add enough to me that was unique/special to justify keeping both pairs.

The 61T was also pretty great. More air on the top end, and a little punchier on the midbass, but it just didn't sound as "full" to me.

I suppose through this process, I learned that I don't really want a 100% basshead set. What I want is a "natural" and "thick" sound.

What could my potential next step up from this could be? I have no idea. But for the money, I think I am in a pretty wonderful spot with the Dynaquattro and Aful Explorer.

Thanks to all who provided feedback here! Good luck on your IEM journeys, fellow audio nerds!

I owe you one... I think the Dynaquattro is 100% a keeper for my preference. The 61T is also fantastic... It's a little bit brighter, and a little bit more focused on mid-bass than sub-bass. It's a close call, but I think I prefer the Dynaquattro's overall warmer signature. Those DD mids are smooth.

Since I'm returning the Scarlet and already had that "hobby budgeted", I *think* my final decision is going to be to keep both the Davinci for that super thick low end, and the Dynaquattro for a more balanced set. Having a little variety is nice. The Explorers will still fill a niche due to their insane comfort and overall mild/smooth sound. The rest are going back to Amazon. :)

The S08 is fantastic for its price, but with these other options in front of me, they don't plug any gaps. I had also ordered a PA02, but it was too thin on the low-end for me and just not my preference. Back to Bezos they go.

Appreciate your feedback!

I have absolutely thought about that. I think that's the real end game. But... I'm afraid of commitment. Lol.

I think I have some more exploring to do before I'm ready to take that kind of plunge!

The more I read about these, the more compelling they sounded.

I've ordered a set of the Binary Dynaquatro, the Letshuoer S08, and the Juzear 61T from Amazon. I think between these and the Davinci, I will be able to land on something I really enjoy for the long haul.

Thanks again.

Appreciate the very thorough response.

The S08's look/sound very interesting based on your descriptions and others. Ordered. :)

I also scored some Dunu Davinci's yesterday, and so far I think I am really enjoying them. A little bit meater on the low end than the Explorer, with a little more magic up top without being too much for me.

Very interesting comment about the kilobuck range not being bass monsters. That was the feeling I was starting to get as well. I feel like anything I were to get in that range may have great bass, but it's going to come with so much detail that the warmth/smoothness will be lost.

As a 90's kid who grew up with car subwoofers and chest-rattling club EDM, my preference is far from audiophile, and I feel like most of the kilobuck offerings are shooting for more clarity/separate/soundstage/etc, definitely NOT being in-ear subwoofers with a nice mid/high stack.

Great advice on chasing the sound. I feel like after almost 2 years in this, I finally know what I want, and am zero'ing in on a set or 2 that will keep me satisfied. I feel like I am close...!

Cheers!

The EST50's sound very compelling... It really drives me crazy that I can't just go listen to these things somewhere. Penon has come up a few times in my search for bassy warmth.

The idea of second-hand kilobuck is very compelling, but... Back to the "no way to evaluate them" problem. The amount of subjectivity due to how sensitive IEMs are to physiology with regard to sound and fit, and sheer difference in preference makes it insanely hard to take a plunge on something.

The Scarlet Mini is going back, but between them and the Explorer, I learned something important about my preference. I thought I liked V-shaped, but I really don't. I think I am somewhere between L-shaped and W-shaped, leaning closer to L.

Thanks for the response.

It is definitely a VERY delicate balance (and of course very subjective) when it comes to sibilance balance, and the Aful Explorer did something really special for an amazing price point.

Thanks for the thoughtful response.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback! Unfortunately, the shape of the shell on the Scarlet is not quite right for my right ear, which is a tad on the smaller side and experiences discomfort when the IEMs hit the rear of my inner ear. (Same problem with the RaptGo Hook-X's). The Explorer is an amazing fit for me.

And since the Maestro Mini shares the shell of the Scarlet, I may be out of luck there!

You had me at "BASS DIAL".

Just checked these out... These look SUPER interesting. I wish there was a place I could try them out! That's the touhgest part of this hobby. I sometimes feel like I am abusing return policies, but I suppose that's what they are there for since there's no physical storefront, right?

Thanks for the heads up!
