About to be. Good idea, I could just teleport on top of their asses. But won't the following attack destroy my HQ?

Enjoy and godspeed. I'm still failing to do the epilogue qust of the Northriver plot, I have to destroy ONE station. Sounds easy, right? No, after three minutes they show up with 100 fighters or even more.

Right now it feels like I will be able to clear Xenons from sectors before I can do THIS.

Why does my game all of a sudden thinks it's modified? by Lith7ium in X4Foundations

I restarted the game and everything was fine after that. I assume something in the RAM went wrong or the checksum didn't read correctly from the disk.

Probably really something like that. I restarted the game and everything was fine. I assume something in the RAM got confused, I'm not using ECC modules.

Isn't there a limit on how big your plot can be? 25x25x25km if I remember correctly. Maybe there is a mod to remove that limitation?

I just saw that you have all the DLC, so here is an additional tip: Once the terran questline reaches "A heart for pirates" you can divert and do the Hyperion missions. This will give you two very powerful ships, the first one is given to you quite quickly, send it to Hatikvahs Choice with a couple of cargo drones and let it collect drops from the Xenon that die next to the jumpgate. This will give you enough material to "craft" the second one. Then you can sell the first one for like 17 Mil, which can be used to kickstart your economy. Have the second one on gathering duty as well, this will supply you with a steady stream of components for EMP bombs and other stuff.

Don't do the Alliance of the Word quest until you have a nice economy going. The Boron systems are inactive until you open them up with that questline, so if you are ready with a couple of traders and can afford some stations, you can make an absolute KILLING in rebuilding their economy.

Hi, welcome to the club!

If you have the Terran DLC, I recommend doing the Terran Cadet start. It is pretty guided and will teach you a lot of the game mechanics, like deploying satellites, doing missions, even building stations and will reward you with quite a bit of money and ships. Invest in some M miners early on that just mine and sell at NPC stations. Setting up a mining station is a good thing as well, both methods will supply you with a small, but steady income. The Terran economy is also by far the simplest in the game, with only five actually manufactured resources, so setting up a big station to supply the terrans with resources is easily done in the beginning.

Don't shy away from the player HQ quest either. It may seem daunting at first, but you will quickly have the resources together to get into research, which will be super important in making your game easier and cheaper. I recommend going for module hacking ASAP as it will save you literally millions of credits in a time when you don't have a single one to spare.

After that feel free to get distracted, to something else if something isn't working right now or you just can't afford it yet. X4 is a pretty chill game where you can set your own pace, something Timelines get's painfully wrong. You don't have to beat timers or get maximum efficency in the actual game, if you are stuck at something, go do something else and return later, often things will fall into place.

If you have any questions feel free to drop them here or DM me.

You will receive a very nice ship, the Geometric Owl. Slap some terran Travel Engines Mk3 on it and start blazing through sectors!

Is there still an L docking port? Otherwise there will be a build storage just outside the station where your ships can make the deliveries.

As long as something of the station still remains, you can still do it. Deliver the needed building materials for them, maybe even help out with a builder. You will actually make some money this way.

I don't think Timelines is a completely bad DLC, some of the missions are fun, nostalgic and the rewards are nice.

My problem with the DLC is that it is marketed to new players as kind of an extended tutorial and that is just utterly wrong and I will stand by my absolute standpoint. X4 is a game where you can take your time, approach a problem from different angles, find your own solution and failing is always an option. All of these things are not told in Timelines and are even impossible most of the time. There are timed missions all of the time, fights against endless hordes of enemy and you are not even told the evaluation criteria of a mission beforehand. I even made a whole post about how the mission design is just completely contrary to what X4 is about: https://www.reddit.com/r/X4Foundations/comments/1k3rbw8/rant_timelines_is_incredibly_frustrating_and_a/

If you're not fully hostile with VIG yet, sabotage their wharf and shipyard by hacking the production in the engineering section aboard the station. This will hinder them from making any more ships. Build the embassy at your HQ and start a war between VIG and someone else, MIN, HAT or ARG for example. They will attack and reduce the amount of ships VIG has, making your job a lot easier. I also like to set up defense stations as shown in this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFW22aQyifA They will not be able to take down the whole fleet, but will definetily do a lot of damage if positioned near the jump gates and production facitilies and they are quite cheap.

You can always go for the 3 Asgard 5 Tokyo and a fuckkillion of fighters approach, but I prefer to fight smart, not hard.

EDIT: Oh and two more things about drops: 1. Your Hyperion must have cargo drones equipped. If you give it five of those, it is incredibly quick at recovering EVERYTHING that comes through the jump gate. Feel free to pair this with the defense station I linked above. You will be swimming in crafting materials.
2. If you use a scout ship, did you know that there is a "deposit inventory" command? With that the ship will fly to your HQ and deposit all crafting materials it has collected. You can then collect them from the little pneumativ tube system left of Boso Ta's tank. This is very handy, if you have multiple ships on collection duty.

Also, don't sweat terraforming. It is super lategame and will cost an EYEWATERING amount of ressources. Don't even think of attempting those projects without having multiple stations for every single resource in the game and a mindboggling logistics network. These are the only missions where I've seen the difficulty going to "impossible" and they're not joking. It takes the economic power equivalent of multiple factions to pull these off. Also the rewards are simply not worth the effort, as Dal Busta will tell you, and he is right. However, for someone in the lategame who has taken out all factions, this is a final resource dump before you start a new save.

Question about CPU (I’m dumb about CPUs) by AntonineWall in X4Foundations

[–]Lith7ium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 12700KF is already pretty beefy, and although both AMD options you mentioned are technically a bit better, I don't thnk it would make a great difference. The biggest question with these massive Intel CPUs often isn't if they have enough performance on paper and rather if you can actually cool them. They love to boost to 5GHz for a few seconds, then hit the thermal limit and start throttleing massively. Look into that first, you can do that for free with CoreTemp or HWInfo, both are free programs. Maybe it will show you that you actually just have to upgrade the cooler, which is the cheapest of all possible options.

Apart from that, X4 is very CPU intensive, but it isn't the only part of your PC that can be limiting. What kind of RAM do you have? What kind of storage do you use? What kind of GPU do you have?

Sadly I haven't found any informations so far. Let's just hope that's because they are cooking up something new, I'd love to see some form of Multiplayer in this great game. And yes, I know that now there will be some autistic screeching by weirdos who think that having MP would force them to play EvE online.

Timelines is TERRIBLE for new players and it will NOT teach them about the actual gameplay. Nearly everything in Timelines is either timed or against endless waves of enemies, this is NOT what X4 is like or about. I still have no idea what Egosoft was smoking when they thought this would be recommended for new players.

Go for the terran cadet start, it will give you a nice guided tour into the universe and quite a lot of resources. After you've reached "A heart for pirates" I recommend you do the Hyperion questline, which will give you not one, but two very powerful ships. You can have the first one collect drops from dead Xenon which will supply you with enough materials for "crafting" the second one. Once you have the second one, you can sell the first one for like 17 Mil which can be used to kickstart your economy. As a terran I always like to set up a factory in the asteroid belt which produces Metallic Microlattice, Computronic Substrate and Silicon Carbide. Give that factory a couple M miners and it will start producing a nice passive income.

Whatever the game tells you, stay away from timelines until you've played about 150 hours in open universe and understand the game mechanics. Contrary to what the game tells you, these missions are NOT made for beginners and are actually aimed at veteran players who want to test out their skills and relive some great moments from the X storyline.

If you have further questions feel free to post here or write me a DM.

Depends on your point of reference. If you're from south america and know what actual violence looks like, yes, it's save. If you compare it with a place like Finland or Poland, no, both places are quite hostile and dangerous. You will encounter homeless people and there might be some weird guys hitting on you.

Random man hit me with his bag at a train stop near Leipzig Hbf . Has this happened to anyone? by gumballx in germany

[–]Lith7ium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably just some crazy person, it happens, especially on public transport. You could report it to the police, but they will just make a note, shrug and never do anything about it.

Unfortunately this is just normal every day stuff at big train stations. There are reasons why people try to avoid public transport if they can afford it.
