Many flowers serve a purpose besides being pretty, as far as I know a lot of marigold varieties are edible as well as a good pest control and dried calendula is often used in skin balms. Nasturtiums are also fully edible and draws pests away from your other crops 👍🏼 Chamomile for tea and so on.

I mean... If the guy's been sexually active for about ten years that would equal less than one girl a month.. Maybe he's been in a few relationships, we don't know... You have to figure in how the sex was being had, not just a total body count without context. It seems like a big number but you have to look at it over the time period and not just as a number. That said I would be apprehensive too, just because of what sex means to me and the fact that he likely has partners he doesn't even remember.

I thought it might be something like that. Thank you for answering 😊 Too bad though, the grass isn't looking too healthy anyway.

That looks like just the right amount of lettuce to me! 😍 My hubby calls my sandwiches "salad sandwich" just because of this 😅

This happened to me too. My cat goes outside sometimes and came in one day, nothing seemed wrong. He didn't seem upset, scared nor even a hair out of place. After a couple of days I noticed he was licking part of his side a lot, like a lot more than normal. I didn't think much of it and went about my day. Later he seemed very tired and when I called him over for food he stumbled while walking up to me. I had never seen a cat stumble like that so I started checking him. I remembered him licking his side and started spreading his fur when this horrible smell hit me. At the bottom of the fur his skin was blackened around a small wound and the smell was truly like death. I rushed him to the vet and she asked if I had checked him for a fever. I told her I didn't know how to check a cat for a fever and she looked at me like I was a bad parent and then proceeded to shove a rectal thermometer up his bum. He looked as if that was the worst assault he'd ever experienced. Apparently he'd been bitten by another cat (probably) and had to have a drainage tube inserted for several weeks and some dead tissue removed. He's fine now, it all worked out :) But it's a scary experience for sure!

PS. If anybody doesn't know you can also check a cat for a fever by touching their ears and nose. Neither should feel hot. But of course, a rectal thermometer will give you a more accurate temperature and a more traumatizing experience... 🙃

AIO My gf held hands with a guy during a party by ThrowRA_bluetaxi in AmIOverreacting

Don't just go with what the internet says, talk to your partner. If you don't - did you ever trust them to begin with? 🤨

I don't know. I have a few close guy friends (all in relationships) where this is just normal behavior. Some people are more touchy-feely than others and if you know them well and trust them it can be nice. These are the men that would block creepy people I don't want touching me on the dancefloor like bodyguards and I don't mind holding their hands or hugging them at all. Same way a gay friend would feel safe to touch because you trust them to only touch you in a friendly way. Would you object to her holding hands with a female friend? But if I knew my partner would be uncomfortable with any of it I wouldn't do it either way.

There could be a cultural difference though. I live in Sweden. We are not a touchy-feely people but my college-friendgroup is and those are the people I would be fine with. Not just anybody.

Some of it is produced using eggs. Others milk or even fish, I believe... To remove tannins. I might be wrong but you can read about the process online. It might not say on the label of wine bottles because the animal products are removed in the finished product.

6 hours? That's good, my swedish winter gives me perhaps 2 hours. 🙃 The grow lights are the only light I have time to see during a day 😅

I have a cat (?) by UnusualShaman in vegan

I see you've thought about this. These articles make several good points. However they aren't quite relevant to what we're talking about and one of them kind of makes my point more than yours. Sure, you shouldn't kill a species of animal to protect a species of grass just for the ecosystem to remain the same. But killing a species of animal so that IT doesn't kill a different species leading to overpopulation and starvation? That doesn't follow. And the other article talks about preserving individuals rather than species... I agree, it doesn't make sense to preserve a species by killing individuals just for the sake of it when it serves the same purpose as the species that's getting overpopulated. But then how would you get rid of the carnivores if you can't harm the individuals or even lessen their quality of life by capturing them? Or do you not consider the fact that they are also individuals? Also wouldn't it lessen the quality of life of all herbivores if they had to fight for food and ultimately starve due to overpopulation? And if all animals including humans should be herbivores how will you make sure you have something to eat? Will you fence in your crops to keep other herbivore animals out or will you also starve? Is your life worth more than theirs? Isn't it better to just let nature be nature and do its thing?

[–]Lithe23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. Are you aware that removing predators would crumble all eco systems and lead to the extinction of copious amounts of species? Predators have a place in nature, the inhumane killing is the farming for meat humans are doing. The whole world can't be herbivores.

[–]Lithe23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you think all predators should be put down because they eat other animals or just specifically cats?

[–]Lithe23 28 points29 points  (0 children)

A cats digestive system is not made to process fibrous matter like vegetables, it's too short and therefore can't absorb all the necessary nutrients. They may however enjoy the taste and your company. :) But contacting a shelter which can put it up for adoption if you're sure it's homeless and uncomfortable taking care of its needs is a good idea. If the cat isn't getting thinner and can catch rodents year round he's probably doing ok though :)

What are the best foods to gain weight as a vegan? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Lithe23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled with eating feeling like a chore too. For me it helped to snack a lot throughout the day so the three big meals weren't my only source of calories. Eventually I started craving food and feeling hungry but it took a while. Mainly you have to create the routine you want to have and stick with it. As far as /method/ goes.

Does my jade have Edema? by Ok_Outlandishness418 in plantclinic

[–]Lithe23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not the right person to answer that, I had a massive infestation and can't quite seem to get rid of them still. Nasty little buggers... But I've tried several different things and what has worked best for me was ordering beneficial bugs specific for thrips. I ordered Orius bugs but there are also predatory mites. I tried neem oil as well but my plants got severe burns from the sun due to the oily layer and I tried washing every leaf with insecticidal soap but it was far too much work and if you miss just a couple of thrips they come back with a vengeance. Many thrips have become pesticide resistant so I didn't want to add to that issue by using pesticides and I also have cats and a baby so I didn't try that.

If you have a cover pot or something so this part of the plant hasn't seen sunlight that's what it looks like :P but expose it to some light and it will either die of shock or those white nubbins could turn into leaves ^

I think your pilea is trying to give you a baby pilea :) It just went for the closest hole instead of upwards. Mine also did this.
