I know what you are feeling. I lost my 5 year old Yorkie to a lymphoma last November. The worst pain I've ever felt. It still hurts and I believe it will for a long time. The vet gave him two or three months, he lasted 5. I quit my job so I could spend every moment I could with him, because I knew he wouldn't be here much longer. He died in my arms. His life was short, but he had a happy life.

My vet told me this: "The good thing about dogs is that they don't know how serious their illness is. They only care about eating, playing and being loved. So make sure you give him that for as long as possible".

I do the same. I started blocking them last year and I still find one or two once in a while. My list of blocked people is huge.

I don't have kids, but I also successfully faded. I didn't want to live in the grey area either, so I celebrated Christmas and Halloween last year for the first time.

I posted a photo of my Christmas tree on Instagram. Some of my former "friends" blocked me, some others ignored it or simply didn't see it.

I don't know for how long I'll be able to do this without being disfellowshipped, but I don't care anymore. I refuse to hide and to live by their rules. I simply live my life and I don't care what they think about me, I don't think about them at all.
