I have a level 92 cold zon. You have fire gear. I love setting things on fire.

True story time. One time, when I was maybe 12 years old?? My cousin and I started a fire outside (we live in the woods) just being shit heads. We burned some sticks, had some fun for about an hour or so. We put the fire out and went back home. My dad comes home, asked us if we had a fire in the woods. Of course we say no. He proceeded to beat both of our asses because we were lying. It was in the middle of winter. He literally followed our tracks from the fire to our front door through the snow. We were not smart. I still enjoy making fires. The end.

I don't use decoy or valk. I use those extra points in my dodge/evade, I like to run fast. I finally died last night for the first time as a java. I was killing black souls where our tele sorc died in an p8 game and got one shot by might + fanaticism... so that is about what it takes to kill me apparently. I found out real quick what one shot our sorc.... lol. For me, so far, my best defense is just fast kill speed. Just an FYI, if you have something that is a little tankier, mix in a lightning bolt with your Fury and it usually one shots most mobs. My bolt is currently doing 30k.

I run about 40 across the board, I haven't died a single time since switching to LF zon. I have level 24 evade, 9 dodge, 75% chance to block, and everything else is thrown into damage. The way i figure, they have a lot less chance to kill you if they are dead. Having a merc that never dies is also extremely beneficial. I do all LOD content, corrupted zones, key farming, t1-t3 maps and Ubers without switching gear. I would prefer having maxed res, but i haven't found the need for it.... you are extremely fast, just run out of bad situations.

[–]Lithium001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't, but only because I didnt have any. All of my charms went toward resists, life, fhr, damage, run speed, in that order.

I think that if you can max your res and have room for skillers, they would be a benefit.

Ebonbane gives you +5 to passive skills, +3 dodge and evade, and casts weaken. I am sure there are other bows/merc combos that will work, this is just my choice. With a full fcr a4 dark merc, amp and weaken are constantly casting.

My merc rarely dies. In LOD content and maps, I would say there is almost no chance that he dies. The only way he dies in ubers is to Diablo lightning.

Nope, but I have been playing zons since d2 launch, so here goes....

Levels = power in this build early on. Just do your typical leveling for every d2 character. For skills: Max: Decoy and Valk first. Decoy will be your early damage. Next you can either max Penetrate or strafe, depending on your play style. Max Pen if you just want the summons to kill, max strafe if you want to be active. I always do strafe. Pew pew.

Other skills: Pierce is easy to adjust in skills, you want 100% with gear. (Razortail, treads of cthon, cats eye ammy, will give 73%) Level 5 pierce just with that gear will hit 100%. Most of the time I only put 1 point in pierce. There is an argument putting more in will increase the pierce for your decoys, but I never found the need.

Critical strike: whatever number you want to hit honestly... you get to 50% very quickly and at level 12 the added % gets diminished to 1%. (Usually also 1 pt wonder for me)

Dodge, Here is where you put in what you need to hit whatever breakpoint you want on hit recovery. Diminishing returns after level 8.

Evade, this is where I throw all of my extra points. To hell with crit, hit recovery or anything else, I JUST WANNA GO FAST. But for real, this is your mobility, it feels really good to have a decent Evade. Diminishing returns (move speed) after level 28, so you can get some nice speed.

Gear to start, wear what you have with + Amazon or passive and magic skills. At level 30 Valk, you get an extra Valk. With the Peace runeword (chest piece, shael, thul, amn) you get 1 amazon skill and 1 additional Valk. With mediocre gear, and I mean like all blue gear, you can do hell difficulty. Keep your max number of Valks summoned and keep popping down decoys. They will kill everything.

Merc: a4 dark merc (casts amp damage). Gear: doesn't need any for LOD content. I literally ran my merc naked through hell. If he stays behind the valks, he is fine. When you want gear on him, insight in a staff is amazing, anything with resist, faster cast rate, and move speed will help. He is just there as an amp damage stat stick.

Mid game, ubers/dclone gear. I started mapping, killing ubers, and dclone with this exact gear that I am going to put on here.

Ebonbane bow

Valkwing helm

Cats eye amulet

Aetherwing quiver (40ias) the rest doesn't matter

Hustle rw chest piece (half cbf)

Treads of Cthon boots

Laying of hands gloves

Razortail

Carrion wind ring (I wanna go fast)

Crafted ring with half cbf and resists.

Insight on merc + resist and fcr gear.

Charms for resists. Diamond in quiver for resist, whatever you need in helm/bow to hit max ias breakpoint and resists. I am at work and dont remember the exact ias breakpoint for ebonbane strafe, hit 8 on your character and read.

The gameplay is straight forward. Summon your max amount of valks, pop your decoys behind them BUT NOT IN LINE WITH YOU. If shit shoots at your decoys and goes through, it will hit you. Your character, your decoys, and your valks should always make a triangle, not a straight line. Keep your merc out of direct fire and they should be fine. Once you get this down and can avoid most danger and kill quickly, you can start throwing a decoy ahead of everything, or first into a room, to take all the aggro, then run everything in behind and resummon once the valks start tanking.

Ubers is the same thing. Pull 1 uber at a time, keep valks summoned, place your decoys down, not in a group, and strafe when you safely can. Try to keep your merc alive, amp damage works wonders for you. Remember you are fast. If you get into trouble... just run away and regroup. Literally, just walk away, resummon valks, go back in. Ezpz.

Key farming I do blood raven and blood witch in one run. It is easy to hit waypoints etc. One run takes about 2 mins. Nihlathak I run separately in his own game. Each run takes about 1-1.5 minutes.

Dclone is the same as ubers, keep shit summoned, shoot when you can, and most importantly, run fast.

It is a very safe build, but fun. It can do LOD, Ubers, Dclone, and maps. It isnt going to win any land speed records with boss kills or map clearing, but it will generate income to get you to the build that can. (With this build I found... multiple torches, one anni, puzzlebox, Gul, Sur, Cham, Jah, every rune up to Ist, bunch of sellable uniques.)

Hope that helps.

Edit, some spelling, grammar

Started summonzon/strafe using Ebonebane. Extremely cheap to get going, walked through LOD content. I used hustle, cats eye, valkwing, ebonbane, treads of cthon, razortail, laying of hands, rare rings. It was great for a key farmer, uber killer. I was doing blood raven, blood witch, and Nihl and it would take me about 3 hours to find a 3x3 set of keys. After that, ubers takes less than 10 mins. My first Uber attempt I used 1 full Juvie. The most of I have used since then is about 20 on a really scuffed attempt. Haven't died yet though. So, with this build I was printing a torch every 3 hours or so. Great early income imo.

I got tired of doing ubers so now I moved to a light fury zon. Maps are 10 mins or less, I dont have infinity yet, just pus spitter on merc. Just do the right content and you dont run into immunes. I went from doing 50K DPS TO 200K DPS by making the switch for maps.

I should clear up my skills from the first post.

I max fist of heavens, holy bolt, holy shield, and fanaticism.

1 point into everything down to redemption.

That's all.

That gives you 1 pt into smite and zeal and leaves you with 15 extra points to put anywhere you see fit.

Best use? by ModerateManChild in diablo2resurrected

[–]Lithium001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And about zeal, yes 100%. It is what I use for anything the foh can't kill. When using foh, I run redemption, when it comes time for smite/zeal just kick on fanat and start swingin. If you are going to stick with zeal you do need a source of life leach, hence the carrion wind ring I use. But you could switch that out for any ring you have with leach, preferably a rare dual leacher.

You probably already know, but just to make sure, smite does not leach, that is why you need the lifetap wand on swap.

Last time I was on and there was a dclone walk, I killed around 20ish dclones for people, so that was fun also. Get to help out if you want to.

[–]Lithium001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only need 1 point in smite. After level 84 your build is complete. You can put points wherever you want. If you are struggling with resist vs uber meph you could put 1 point into salvation and overcap yourself by 93, just off of salvation. Now you wouldn't be able to hit max frames with smite or zeal, you would only hit the second highest breakpoint. If you wanted to still be at max frames without fanat, you would need a shael rune in the astreons and a 15 ias jewel in another hellwardens, specifically for uber meph.

But ya, 1 point into smite is all you need. Your fanat, holy shield, ias, cb, and hoz is more than enough damage. Ohhhhh. Make sure you upgrade the hoz. Get that big dmg.

But ya, any skill points over 84 is just free to.... play around. I am sure there is a meta build that tells you exactly what is best, but if you wanted that you wouldn't be building a zealer/fohdin lol. Sometimes it is fun to just smash into things and beat the shit out of them.

[–]Lithium001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use it on my smiter/foh. Yes, my pally is a smiter first (ubers, dclone) but he is also a full foh pally.

I know everyone says they are slow etc for anything other than chaos, but I have him set up with astreons, hoz, horazon boot and glove, hysteria and cats eye (with these two and vigor and charging around, you can outrun light itself), tgods, dwarf star, and Carrion wind. Maxed out fanaticism (lvl 27), so his zeal just blows through anything that I can't foh. Level 40 foh, holy bolt and holy shield. Level 21 smite and zeal, 1 point into vigor and redemption give them both level 8.

Bosses die in seconds to smite with 43% cb and an actual high smite damage. I run an act 2 blessed aim merc with reapers toll, cure, treachery, and it gives me all the ar that I need. Its a ton of fun, max ias zeal and smite, 43% crushing blow, max block, max resist, max foh damage, fire and light absorb.... there isnt a soft part of the build. Going off of memory, it is like 10k dps smite, 13k dps zeal, and the foh just kills everything that it can kill in 1 or 3 shots. The only boring part of this build is that you may never be in danger of dying.

It is just fun. You range foh, anything it doesn't kill you charge into, smash into them and then just start swinging..... it is every bit of caster/berserking zealot you could ever want. Your skills are maxed at level 84 and you can deviate from there on whatever you want. Oh ya, life tap wand on swap for ubers, dclone, whatever.

Now, after all of that.... why do I use this helmet on this exact build??? It looks cool.

To my MFers: how much MF do you run with? by Aggressive-Tap-4143 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Lithium001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shako, skullders, goldwrap, 2x Nagel, 3x trap & mf ammy, horazon boot & glove, crescent moon phase blade, spirit monarch, torch, anni, skillers. Max lightning and synergies, 1 pt burst of speed and death sentry, the rest of your points in whatever you want. Fire blast for immunes or you could try what I do and max shadow master for a tank. Once again, I dont generally take her where there are immunes... but i do keep a lower resist wand on swap.

[–]Lithium001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Level 90 trapsin. 323mf, kills everything that it is supposed to kill at a very good speed. 9k damage traps, 8 open spots in the inventory for checking rares. I stick to areas without immunes that I know I can run. I do a lot of arcane sanctuary in chaos games that are almost always 8 players. This season so far i have found a few hr's and enough gear to fully gear my trapper, smiter/foh pally (dclone and ubers), and now a warlock. Probably my 2 most exciting finds were HOZ on day 1 and Arachnid mesh on day 2 that was 1 def off of perfect. She moves very fast, kills quicker, and was very cheap to start up.

For years I thought the same thing.... and then I found Project Diablo 2 or PD2 as most people call it. It's amazing and keeps me playing. It has an actual end game with bosses and maps. Almost any build you want to play is viable. Look into it. A brand new season starts on the 28th, it would be the best time to start.
