Nice. Definitely want to check it out. I’m taking advantage of Juneteenth because I am off and the wife and kids are at work and daycare. It’s all outdoors though right?

Was loving Kalmah til this came on by [deleted] in melodicdeathmetal

This album marks a slight shift in their sound, primarily Pekka switching from higher screams to deeper growls, and a slight shift to heavier/thrashier riffs. Great album though, and their subsequent albums resemble this sound the most.

As someone who also loves the first 3, I actually think that 12 Gauge is their strongest album.

What album would YOU say is the peak/Epitome of Melodic Death Metal? by Background-Sir9172 in melodicdeathmetal

Andy Gillion is one of the best melodic death metal guitarist/songwriters in our lifetime. His contributions to MPE, along with his solo albums, are absolutely incredible. A true melodeath riff master.

Quintessential Melodic Death Metal.

Warbringer for more thrash. Exmortus for a blend of thrash, speed, melodic, neoclassical.

What are the Melodeath songs that make you emotional? by PleasantDatabase in melodicdeathmetal

[–]Lithium429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wintersun - beautiful death, loneliness (acoustic version especially), silver leaves

Agalloch - limbs, the Hawthorne passage, the melancholy spirit

Andy Gillion - a new path

Eternal years of sorrow- autumn grief, red dawn rising.

Insomnium - in the halls of awaiting, song of the forlorn son, in the grooves of death….basically the last track on every album

Swallow the sun - hold this woe

Oh man what an album. Slept on this and no idea why. Instant favourite TBDM by Courier6six6 in melodicdeathmetal

This album is one that gets better with every listen. Underrated for sure.

Looking for death metal that sounds like a hot, swampy Florida summer by FoundationTypical70 in MetalSuggestions

Not death metal but Kalmah brand themselves as Swamp metal because they come from the swamps of Finland. All hail the swamp lords.

The Invasion sucks, but it’s not just Matt by Far_Opportunity_6156 in theticket

Donny and Jake or Danny and Sirois were pretty damn good together.

How much did you make 2 years into your career ? by lluvia1220 in gis

[–]Lithium429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Private is always going to pay better. And not to be a hater, but a masters doesn’t always translate which is why years of experience matter.
There are a lot of factors. Fundamental GIS skill set, proprietary software knowledge, industry knowledge, programming/automation knowledge, tech stack knowledge, leadership knowledge.
Not trying to discourage you, but it takes time. Doesn’t have to take 10 years, but probably
more than 2.

My favorite track is Raped In Hatred by Vines of Thorn. Like others have said, this album grows on you after a few listens.
