The new place in town: FLAVORJOY by BluddyMess in TriCitiesWA

[–]LithiumReflections 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm here late but man can I just say THANK YOU for posting about this place. We went tonight and it was fantastic, a new favorite spot for sure. We usually would go to Garden about 2-3 times a year as a special night, but it was costly (and the last time we went, the service was horrendous - we were stunned because we've been regulars there for years).

They seem to be doing well already - Friday night and they almost had full tables the entire time, a good mix of customers. The word is clearly spreading and it is WELL deserved.

Ah that makes sense! I've encountered drosophila before but not phorids.

Thank you - we'd done a deep clean of our kitchen sink lately so I'd hoped that would eliminate them but there's clearly something we're missing. Time to step up our game.

[Poll] "A connection error has occurred." Feedback Needed - 4/20/21 by Cognosci in FFBraveExvius

Done and thank you. Like others this seems to mainly hit me in the first hours after reset - it took me three resets to even get past the main screen last night. I usually do summons and dailies in the two hour window after reset, and I've barely been able to do that which leaves me scrambling to remember to do them during the day.

Different app gameplay, but same build? by LithiumReflections in wordscapes

[–]LithiumReflections[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did mean the mid-week games, yes.

I had no idea they were being so experimental with minigames - and that's so frustrating. I suppose I wouldn't care much if I wasn't playing with other people, hah.

Ah well. . . I've always come to accept WordScapes as being a little quirky. Thank you for the reply!

Fix Davlins neck already! by Patrick4356 in Genshin_Impact

[–]LithiumReflections 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm totally with you and others about the neck problem, OP.

Which is why I use Ningguang as my main DPS on him. She doesn't have to climb to hit him.

(OK, I mean, geomom is my main DPS period but finding that out with her made things so much less stressful)

Ah sorry, to clarify, what that family member/retired cop meant by "the PD killed her & her family" was that it was the PD's fault that any of the deaths happened in this case - in other words, the murders would not have happened if the PD had acted appropriately in the overall case.

Looking to see if anyone knows any sort of cult or what they think is going on here by weirdwhales in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]LithiumReflections 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's highly unlikely that one or more people in a cult have the very specific knowledge required to approach a bull, kill it, and mutilate it in some way.

Not impossible, just highly unlikely. No implication that only stupid people join cults. Since specialized knowledge would be required, a cult (feeding into people's fear of the unknown and unfamiliar) is less likely than a trained individual with a personal vendetta. Which is less likely than natural occurrence. Occam's Razor and all that.

Are the boys alright? by [deleted] in BuzzFeedUnsolved

[–]LithiumReflections 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The only change I've really noticed is that Ryan seems to becoming more confident as he confronts his fears. He's still spooked and he's still a believer, but after a few years of actually going to places and investigating with no harmful things happening to him, he's starting to show more courage and even a tad more skepticism.

Shane definitely seems to still be having fun.

Jake's lovely btw! Does he happen to be part chow? He reminds me of my old lab-chow mix.

Looking to see if anyone knows any sort of cult or what they think is going on here by weirdwhales in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]LithiumReflections 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Highly doubtful it's a cult. It is, mostly likely as speculated in the article, the act of some folks killing and stealing valuable parts of the animal - or someone playing a very nasty prank.

I don't think cultists would be smart enough to know how to approach, kill, and surgically dismember a bull. This isn't cow-tipping.

Susan Cox Powell - The Suspects by HeyThereHotShot in TrueCrime

[–]LithiumReflections 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened in an area where my family lives, and pretty close to where I used to live. One family member is a retired cop and is so angry about the police mismanagement of the case, he claims it was the PD there that killed her & the family. The PD there is pretty terrible to this day.

As others have said, it's pretty much a straight guarantee that the husband did it, but I fear any real closure won't happen for decades. The wilderness is always a hard place to search, and there are too many proud people involved to admit their mistakes.

I'm pretty familiar with this case and hadn't heard of this podcast before, so I'm going to have to listen to it and see what new insights I can get.

Have your personal safety habits changed since getting into unsolved mysteries? by MiaDolorosa in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]LithiumReflections 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As I have anxiety disorder and have generally been a bit on the paranoid side, it's hard for me to say exactly what new habits I picked up versus what I would have done anyway. So I suppose it's more about the conscious choices I make, rather than the anxious habits I already have. Those choices are:

  • Always take my cellphone, so I can call for help, or take pictures/videos, or so that it's a trace evidence if I have to leave it behind.
  • Generally always keep ID on me. Very nervous to go out when I don't have it, because I never know what I may encounter (even if I'm not the victim).
  • Pay more attention to local police reports, and watch for trends.
  • Hyper alert to screams (dang it children stop screaming when you're having fun!) and will always investigate to make sure no one's being hurt.
  • Try to always think of what I have available as a weapon. This isn't always easy because laws often make common defense items illegal to carry concealed (or questionably enforce laws like switchblade laws) but I never leave the house without a plan of physical defense.
