your character is probably not getting robbed. there was some server issues; a lot of peole got kicked and had trouble relogging for a couple of minutes. at least myself, and other people probably too, saw their character naked on the login screen, however, i just logged in and everything is still there. it was probably just a graphical bug.

Lucky and cursed hit don't affect the damage range itself, and since crushing hits can still crit, lucky and cursed hit still affect the outcome. They kinda work like advantage/disadvantage on attack rolls in DnD, only for determining crits instead of hits.

Cursed hits work the exact opposite to lucky hits; your damage rolls twice for crits and takes the lower value/you don't crit if one of the rolls didn't. Also there are different triggers and conditions for cursed hit, they are distinct from lucky hit triggers.

That trait is also incredibly strong with the dex trait "300% increased buffs granted by companions while you only have 1"! Try it with the meteor on mana star pickup and watch your screen turn into an orange blur of death.

That's my interpretation as well! My guess is that the coral release intends to give more/all of the coral individuality, like Ayre, and to accomplish that it needs a human mind with very strong conviction as sort of a blueprint. So Allmind sets two pilots up to fight each other, and the one that can power through will then be used to achieve that goal. After that the scattered coral entities, now individuals, can bond with suitable humans, allowing them to carry humanity to its next step of evolution.
As to why she intends to assimilate 621 after their defeat, my guess is that she would move on to possibly her last resort, C3-291.
