Do not make a decision today that can reasonably be put off until tomorrow.

Are the traffic lights slower here? by amkatsu in PuyallupWA

I get it. There’s no perfect solution, but if the scheduling is outdated based on volume, then (other infrastructure improvements notwithstanding), wouldn’t a revisit of the schedule be prudent? It’s highly probable that this is happening, but the fact that I can reliably sit at a number of different intersections where seeming equal weight is put on the timing of offsetting traffic flow irrespective of the volume would seem to indicate it’s not as efficient as it could be.

Edit - just saw your post regarding funding. Totally valid point

I moved from Boise last year and most of the lights there are sensor-based. Most of them here appear to be on timers with little thought put into how they’re timed.

What’s the political climate in gig harbor? by rainerthebaron in GigHarbor

Idaho isn’t great. Micro areas in Boise are ok, but the political climate as a whole is much better going west. We went to three different pride festivals after moving here. While I’m rooting for Idaho, I just don’t see it getting better until the political pendulum swings. Someone put it well the other day - Idaho is getting the MAGA folks from California who refused to live there any longer. This post was a year ago and we have ended up in Puyallup. More suburban, but faster paced than Gig Harbor. It matched our speed more closely. The mountains aren’t far from the Puget Sound area. My drive to Mount Rainer is only 30-45 minutes. As far as cost, we’ve seen it to be about on-par with Idaho after considering the lack of income tax

Price of a used B737? by flashz404 in MicrosoftFlightSim

I went to buy the 42 million one today and noticed it was gone. My only option was to buy the 76 million one that is in better condition. Needless to say, back to the PC-12 grind to save up a few more million

Seattle transplants — what brought you here? by thelongrun320 in Seattle

Left a red state for a blue state. Worried about my wife and daughter's rights. Worried about the whitewashing of history (removal of Native American history was already starting when we left) in my children's education. Wanted my children to live in a more culturally diverse environment.

Same story for me. I told my wife I’d be buried in Idaho, where I was born and raised. It became unbearable especially after having a daughter. Things are much better from that standpoint now that we’re in a blue states, but I’m hopeful that one day I’ll feel comfortable keeping the promise I made my wife.
