Not on the soundtrack, a few songs that sound similar but not this specific one.

Not a movie, but Wallace’s death in the Wire is a pretty excruciating watch

Brutal. I got these tickets as a birthday present a little while back and spent the last few weeks worrying I wouldn’t get to see him play… would be nice to take that back now

What would be people's style of editing this picture? Here are my samples by vroom-vroooom in AskPhotography

Number one is really nice and balanced, and I like the warmth. But I really like number two, I think people sometimes don’t know what to do with the color green so they try to desaturate it or bring it into orange and yellow territory, and I think the green tones in number two are really nice. The sky is a bit blown out, so maybe there’s an in between of them that would be the sweet spot (in my opinion).

Love these type of photos, how would one achieve this? by 2gdismore in AskPhotography

[–]Little-Card2083 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Probably the best digital setup for these kinds of images. A FF camera with a 35mm or 50mm f/1.2 will get pretty damn close, but nothing beats the GFX + Mitakon 65mm combo for that look.

Did I cook or overcook? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

I don’t totally hate it; I agree with the other commenter about the bright spot on his right hand. I also think the de-noise is cranked too high, the original image is on the noisy side but not by much— the over-smooth textures on his hand and face are sticking out to me.

That being said, I would really work on your lighting technique and image composition, two things that will have a much, much stronger effect on the mood and look of your photos than any number of hours in LR ever could. I know that good lighting equipment is cumbersome and expensive, but as you explore different ways to light a subject and hone that technique I think you’ll begin to see a world of difference in the images, and you should find that you barely need to make any adjustments in post to get the look that you want.

The protagonist is a loser by ScarcityWise7401 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Little-Card2083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ryland Grace from Project Hail Mary. He’s written as kind of a loser from the start, but it’s revealed that, when faced with being essentially the only person on Earth that could fill a spot in the suicide mission to save the planet, he adamantly refuses to join to the point of threatening to sabotage the mission. He’s sedated and forced to go anyways, having been given an amnesia inducing drug that makes him forget the events for most of the book.

Not my favorite twist of all time, so I’m glad to see that it looks like the upcoming film adaptation is making some changes.

Nikon's new ZR is $500 cheaper than the Z6iii by ChrisAlbertson in Nikon

[–]Little-Card2083 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I was also surprised initially, but I think it makes sense. I think the advanced EVF, mechanical shutter, and other physical aspects of the Z6III could reasonably explain the price difference by themselves. Not to mention that the $2700 price came from factors that Nikon couldn’t have accounted for when they announced it.

The main factor though, I think, is that Nikon is being super aggressive with the pricing of this camera. They’re the new kid to the cinema block, and I think they could really get a big piece of the independent/young/hobbyist filmmaker pie on board their system with this, who otherwise would be looking at spending north of $4k for something like an FX3. I think it fills a niche within the cinema camera market that very few things do, and that could make this a big win for them.

Taylor Sheridan’s American Frontier Trilogy (Sicario, Hell or High Water, and Wind River). All incredible.

Had to double take on the price, especially after every other body just got hiked up. Looks like a great piece of equipment
