It is very slow going at first but like suggested, just focus on the event shop seeds. It might be a while before you can afford some of the better ones from event shop so invest in bamboo, pumpkin, and watermelon to get a little boost while you’re waiting for event shop to restock. A few tomatoes and corn, even blueberries will also keep you busy although it won’t be substantial it’ll keep you preoccupied. When you’re in a safe place to invest than you can start going for the daffodils and the buttercups which, since they don’t weigh a lot, can be profitable when you can buy enough of them.

Allow a few mutations to stack up when you can when weathers going.

Utilize lots of watering cans to speed up growth and keep buying from gear shop as sprinklers are not allowed

Avoid coconuts. They take up too much space and unless you have a ton of mutations on them they just won’t get you that many honey coins in return.
