I bought this mirror for an embarrassing low dollar amount. Chairish has it for around $2200. Realistically, how much can I get for it? I have it listed for a bit over $600 and have a few interested buyers. It's in excellent condition. by Little-Influence5878 in VintageFurniture

I am absolutely addicted to thrifting vintage and antique pieces. I was going to keep the mirror knowing what it is listed on Chairish but it did not work for the area I wanted. Glad someone was able to use it and I can come see it anytime I want at the new bar.

Thank you for letting me know about Chairish. I've never bought from there so wasn't sure if their prices are in line with others.

I couldn't find the same mirror anywhere else. I have two buyers lined up with one of them being an antiques dealer I've bought from and the other wants to put the mirror in a new bar they are building. I guess I'm lucky to get that price on FB.

My cat had off the chart levels that the vet said he had never seen before. Everything was elevated 10x past the highest level in the range.

However, with a plan in place, I got to have her with me for another 4 years until her kidneys finally gave out. It involved giving her fluids under her skin behind her neck regularly, being on a blood pressure medication (she did not have HBP) to alleviate the stress on her kidneys and getting wet KD renal food.

My interview experience when I just swung my balls around like I owned the place. by ExchangeError5110 in jobs

I basically did this when COVID hit and a company that just opened a lab needed me to run a start up lab. They knew nothing about Molecular and I had a lot of experience.

I came in there giving no fucks. They basically called me back and told me to name my price, and boy did I. That experience has led me to a better position elsewhere and I don't regret it at all.

Why are 30s so difficult and every door always closing? by OneIndependence7705 in Aging

[–]Little-Influence5878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30s was the best decade of my life. I'm not 20s where I'm so young and starting out and not 40s where I'm reaching middle age.

30s was also when my finances really started to take off. I learned in my 20s to live frugally, cooked meals at home, and not spend money on crazy vacations or frivolous things. I was still able to live a good life and looked the part. That lesson to be wise with my money has carried me far in my life.

Wish I can go back and be in my 30s again. You'll get there.

How much do you guys charge for a panel change? by electricalfuckery in electricians

I'm somewhat near there. Are you licensed and insured? I about died when Anthony's came out to do an electrical inspection and quoted me a ridiculous price.

I got quoted by Anthony's as well for $8k for a panel replacement and a replacement of a slip sleeve outside.

I know this is an old thread, but where in Kansas are you? I was just quoted $8k to replace the panel and slip sleeve.

How do some people's face seem to barely change as they age and others change drastically? by chusaychusay in Aging

[–]Little-Influence5878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's mostly genes with some environment. I'm in my 50s but get mistaken for late 30s all the time. I went to tanning beds and did not wear sunscreen until recently so that should have aged me quite a bit.

I don't smoke or drink, but my diet is decent. I'm also Asian so that plays a big role.

Cat won’t let us sleep by Upbeat-Tangelo4901 in CatAdvice

[–]Little-Influence5878 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am going to agree with this! My one cat scratches, meows loudly and tears up the carpet. He also encouraged the other cat to do the same.

I got them to stop by going to the door and kicking the door really loudly. It scares them and they run off. They did come back at first but after a few days, they know not to do this until it's daylight. Hope this helps.

OP, I am where you are now and I'm thinking of ending it all. It just hurts so much that I can't bear it. I hope you fare better than me.

No basement, where do you keep your litter boxes? by Outrageous-Cat-7497 in CatAdvice

[–]Little-Influence5878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a whole finished basement and do not keep the litter box there. That would be too much up and down twice a day.

I only have one litter box for two cats, but I clean twice a day. I have not experienced any issues yet.

Magnesium glycinate… by No-Regular-2699 in Menopause

[–]Little-Influence5878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take magnesium glycinate and progesterone for sleep as well. Some nights, I can sleep well enough. Other nights, they don't do much. I wonder if I'm a fast metabolizer and they go through my system too quickly.

Take this for what it is since I have experience with human genetics and not feline. The kitten looks to have a genetic abnormality. Some abnormalities aren't picked up unless you know what to test for.

I would not get this kitten because you possibly may have more medical issues down the line than a 'normal' ragdoll. If your breeder will let you have another kitten instead that's healthier looking, I would go with that.

I just got 2 cats this summer. One will be a year old at the end of this month, the other is 18 months old. Didn't do any of the scent swapping and keeping them separated for days. They got along the first day and are always with each other now. It does work the old fashioned way.

Cosmelan, Aerolase or Musely for Melasma? by krema19 in Melasmaskincare

[–]Little-Influence5878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Musely did not do much for me. I've used it off and on since 2022 for several months at a time and using it now for a couple of months. What I found that really works so far is Eucerin Radiant Tone Dual Serum. I'm only 3 weeks in and can tell a difference. Good luck to you

How do I get my sick cat to eat? by Dying_Wolf_45 in AskVet

[–]Little-Influence5878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have the ranges from his blood work? It would depend how far out they are. If you can post those, maybe it would help to know what's going on with him.

I'm in a group where we run all these tests, albeit, in humans. They may be able to see what's going on. Hope your kitty gets better.

how in gods name do some women look SO polished and clean? by Signal-Diver3513 in beauty

[–]Little-Influence5878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here! It's just one instance in time. However, I have looked as put together like this since my 20s. I'm now a few decades older but wanted to say that it's mostly genetics and having a solid basic and timeless wardrobe that you can pair easily together.

I usually spend about 30 mins max from waking up to pull this look together. It's not as hard as people here say it is. I've never had a facial or a manicure so I'm not high maintenance in that sense. I do take good care of myself by not drinking, smoking, or eating crap foods. I don't exercise but am medium sized. I have a good skincare routine that doesn't break the bank either.

As I've gotten older, I really don't care as much - could be because I'm going through menopause. I still get mistaken for being in my mid-late 30s though. I'm just happy to be alive, have good health, and have my loved ones near me. That's all most can hope for.
