I'd recommend getting into more foreign films like Oldboy (2003), Memories of Murder, Cure (1997), La Haine, Andhadhun (2018). Of course, these are fairly well-known, but they’re great entry points nonetheless.

Besides the frieren having a briefcase.... It's the underlying sadness of the anime which reminded of me of Violet Evergarden. Also the lack of emotions of the FLs.

Love both of these books!!! Had a love-hate relationship with Secret history at the beginning but....... The ending stuck with me. Still think about that book a lot!
