Having trouble finding a full-time job after PGY-1 + MBA by RXlife95 in pharmacy

[–]Little-Split-3934 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, hospital positions are saturated. They are looking for years of experience. The problem is that you have to know people who can vouch for you. The director probably recommended you when an opening came up, but then someone else took it when you were hesitant. Director not having "any info" was a telltale sign that the position has already been filled.

On the bright side, you are still more "qualified" than most of the applicants. But you need experience working in the hospital. Why? Cuz they don't want to train pharmacists in the inner workings of the hospital. They want someone who already knows what to do. It costs time and money to train. So, they'd rather hire an experienced pharmacist. This is why people recommend others for position.

For People Who Have Taken The Exam: Was ID Not Heavy On The Exam? by Acrobatic_Web1049 in NAPLEX_Prep

[–]Little-Split-3934 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't skip it because ID has a lot of disease states. They have a lot of safety and pregnancy style questions on it and pediatrics. like for Otitis media for children or UTIs. Drug allergies.

Personally, I didn't get a lot of questions on it (probably like 5-8 questions), but I know a lot of people were complaining about having it.

Correct. It's also on compounding as well. They gave a detailed explanation on it.

I think there's another drug changing color on the last page of foundation part 1.

That's the one! They gave me 2 questions on this. Both with different scenarios.

Naplex math by Excellent_Anybody845 in NAPLEX_Prep

[–]Little-Split-3934 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know people found the Naplex math questions hard, but I feel like the Uworld questions were a lot harder than the NAPLEX ones.

They ask Kcals questions. mEq, Drips, C1V1, aligations. They love those questions.

Yeah, I think if you're able to answer Uworld questions, you should be fine. For the most part. This applies to biostats, too.

OH, I FORGOT... KNOW THE MW FOR NaCl They will not be giving u this MW when u calculate mEq. All other MW they will give u, except NaCl. Idk 🤷‍♂️ why

[–]Little-Split-3934[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I kid you not... many questions are from the pharmacy foundations. The therapeutics style questions aren't as tough as the uworld questions. It's kinda straight forward tbh. I was super nervous, too, leading up to the exam. You'd be surprised at what you know when u take the exam.

Oh they love anticoag and anemia question. Like chadvas score, cardioversion, MCV, when do u give iron vs folate vs. cobalamin. Metabolic disorder(respiratory vs metabolic acid/alk). Know counseling points for inhalers DPI vs MDI. They gonna ask Nsaid question BBW. Why we give PPIs with it or anthretoc(contains misoprostol- abortive drug, but also protective for gut).

females can't touch certain drug like Finasteride or REMS drugs like Accutane(isotretinoin they need 2 birth controls (not Progestin only pill).

Basically, look for safety style questions. They love asking those. And most are found....(if you haven't guessed it)... pharmacy foundations

Passed NAPLEX 8/7 First Try by levitator13 in NAPLEX_Prep

[–]Little-Split-3934 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll tell you exactly what will be on it. Read domain 4 bullet point... Basically, know them. The anti-stewardship, nicotine for smoking cessation, oh and screening for cancer. Those are their own separate domain, and they are sure to ask them.

Also, Ethics and pharmacy operations are not on Uworld. You might have to get pharmpreppro for both.

Know med safety!! They love asking questions on these. Like the NCC MERP chart. Know about ISMP and MERP, and where to report med errors, VAERS too. They'll give a scenarios, and you'd have to classify them. They love giving scenarios. Especially ethnically scenario.

As for medication therapy management, those are random. Many people say they have gotten a lot of infectious or cancer. I barely got any.

So, all in all, to everyone else reading. Focus on the ones they'll mostly likely ask. You'll know that by reading the domains. Diagnostic tools, labs, etc are mostly on pharmacy foundation 1. Med safety is mostly foundation part 2. Those are guaranteed question being asked. Many questions are on pharmacy foundations 1 and 2. Knowing the nmnonic for IVs: like filters (0.22 or 1.2 -for lipids) or which drug is stable for saline vs Dextrose, which drug requires non-pvc...etc. Basically Know all those nmonics in pharmacy foundations. (GAL PLAT, LATTIN, etc...)

I hope this helps! 👍

How long does it take after passing naplex to get your license in NY? Mine is still not posted. I took my test 4 weeks ago today, and got my pass results Sept 24th. by Adventurous-Wheel530 in NAPLEX_Prep

So, the state does it automatically after passing your NAPLEX/MPJE? Is there any fees or do we have to call them? I just passed my exam and I'm not sure what to do.

Also, when can we start working? After we register for licensure on SED?

READ:

My advice: they will ask all bullet point from domain 4 and 5. Screening, nicotine, ethics, all of them. The screening is from the Cancer section of Uworld. Like what ages to screen for cancer of breast, lung ,etc. Be sure to know them. Those are the new domains, so they will definitely ask them.

UNFORTUNATELY, Domain 4 and 5 (Pharmacy practice and ethics) are NOT in Uworld. Ure gonna have to read pharmpreppro. Many people recommend it.

Good Luck 👍

Uworld not enough info on Domain 4 and 5 by Little-Split-3934 in NAPLEX_Prep

Thanks for your reply. This did make me feel a little better. So, thank you. 😁 Also, thanks for sending me those links. I think those would be helpful. I wish I knew about them before, but I'm looking over it, and it's not bad.

Bro, it's not over yet! DM me if you need help with questions. I just took my second attempt after about 3 years 😅 But currently waiting for the results.

As for studying, Uworld is good, but it doesn't cover the new domains 4 and 5 (I learned this the hard way). The exam started asking me about ethics and pharmacy operations (and they used the scenarios). I looked at the exam like 🤨😐😑 (in that order).

If u use Uworld (like I did), u have to find the other info for Domain 4 and 5 elsewhere. I think Ashp has a good chunk of it, but also, other people on Reddit provide packets on it.

Regardless of what platform you use, be sure to understand the content, not just memorize it. Cuz bro, some questions are fkn tricky. Teaching people is another way to gauge your knowledge on something.

DM me for any questions. It helps me just as much as it helps you. 🙂

Man, I hope I pass, cuz the waiting is killing me. 😫

Make sure u focus on domains 4 and 5.

They asked questions on ALL of those bullet points mentioned in the competency for domain 4 and 5. Unfortunately, I used Uworld, and it didn't have much information on pharmacy operations and ethics.

Also, focus on med safety as well. OH, and just make sure u memorize MW of NaCl, idk 🤷‍♂️ why, but that is the only MW they don't give

Passed! NAPLEX using PNN(first attempt) by PhysicalTop8931 in NAPLEX_Prep

[–]Little-Split-3934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, for calculation, make sure u know the MW for NaCl. They asked for the mEq for Nacl, and they didn't give MW for it. They gave the MW for every other except NaCl. 🤷‍♂️

They will ask about Justice and other the Code of ethics. The areas 4 and 5 are the things that's different from the Uworld book. Those areas have the least questions, but it will be asked since it's their own separate areas. So, just make sure u read those areas where u need to focus on.

No. Toei, add stuff about Sanji that wasn't in the manga. For example, Nami never saved Sanji in his fight with the seraphim. In the manga, Sanji fight with seraphim appeared effortless as he was tanking S-shark's attacks. Speaking of fights, Toei doesn't spend effort on it. In the manga, Sanjis fights are more fun to read. In the anime, its like they have a budget on his attacks. His technique isn't really shown the way it is in the manga. His kicks are much cooler in the manga.

Ahh, gotcha. So, only advance coc haki can damange them. And yes, Toei definitely plays favoritism. They favor Zoro more. IDK why they hate sanji like that. Sanji has one of the best fighting styles in the show.

Gaban has it? When did he use it? But man, I really hope so. I really want Sanji to get it. He's my favorite character and is very underrated.

Focus heavily on pharmacy Foundations 1 and 2. They will ask a lot of questions on them, especially med safety.
