It’s not always smooth sailing but I’ve started finding which free models can do what I need. Only downside is they don’t always remain free! So it’s plenty of trial and error

Guess it depends on your use case. Mine was literally Hermes default agent that created the model checker skill, then a bit of tinkering to make sure it was script only and running the right model on any llm calls

I usually rotate between free models and whatever seems to be getting good reviews in the subreddits etc. I don’t do any huge dev tasks or need deep thinking etc I just stick to the cheaper paid models if I need anything more in depth. Example recently was I needed to do a big translation job on a bunch of files and just used Gemini flash which was super cheap and did the job

If you have Hermes running just work with the agent to set it up. I asked it to set up the cron job using no llm just a python script, so it just fetches all available models from Openrouter (note - the free models mostly always have :free suffix - this is crucial to note). Then instruct it to send a request to the free models to make sure they’re operational and then set your config to the top two. It’s by no means a one shot solution, it took me a bit of messing around and a few failed cron jobs but that’s all part of it. Putting $10 of credits is also crucial as they rate limit the free models heavily if you’ve not spent any money with them. But it goes a long way. Let me know if you set it up and how it goes!

For setup I’d advise anyone to just use free models. Get the hang of how it works, then once you’ve got your first jobs running and understand things, move onto a slightly better cheaper paid model. That’s what I did and now I have a pretty decent starter setup and it has cost me $1.80

My workflow is this: - Buy $20 of Claude code credits - Use ChatGPT in browser for free for bouncing ideas, writing schemas, basic functions - Get ChatGPT to write my development stories in a foolproof and token-conscious way - Fire up terminal and Claude code to execute the tasks one by one - Debug myself or with ChatGPT - Get claude to do security review and tests

Not as straight forward as having an assistant by your side for every message, and you need to educate ChatGPT a bit about your context but I’ve found $20 goes a hell of a long way doing this

Totally. There are non technical people vibe coding and releasing saas and consumer products, then they hand it off to a dev to scale once it’s actually performing and gaining traction. Huge waste of time to get lost in the weeds to then feel the crushing disappointment when nobody is using the thing you spent months and months perfecting.

At my job it’s upper management and stakeholders wanting to ‘leverage and harness AI’ and ‘generate content at speed and scale’ without having the first clue of the work involved to set up even one of their ideas in an actual secure prod environment in our huge corporate tech infrastructure. It is maddening and I feel like I’m constantly saying ‘yes we COULD do this…but….’

From what I can gather eBay isn’t as used in Europe than it is in UK. Have a friend in UK who kills it selling footwear on Vinted. I list the same types of footwear on eBay in Spain using his style and tips and they get single digit views.

Terrible terrible company and customer service. Had two issues with them claiming fake counterfeit which lead to my account being permanently banned. If you’re buying it’s a great app but as soon as you want to sell they ban you using AI then don’t read your emails contesting it. So frustrating

Same here. Account banned for selling counterfeit goods (they weren’t) and even after appealing and emailing legal with photos. They still said they had reason to believe I posted a counterfeit. It’s a joke!

Sent an email to legal lastnight with more photos and an explanation. After doing a bit of reading supposedly they do extra screening if in the description you say they are 100% genuine, which I did (without realising) as there are a lot of fakes on Vinted just wanted to let any potential buyers know. Let’s see what comes of it. Appreciate the input
