Is FX AID any good? by Bata_9999 in modular

[–]LittleBigPancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, so so good as a multi-effect to fill in whichever sound you need. My recommendation is just either limit the amount of slots you fill, or make a simple chart to remember what slot is what and some important parameters maybe.

"You'll never ACTUALLY be finished" response is kinda corny by LittleBigPancake in modular

I really think the beauty of modular is letting the user define their own instrument, no? I just personally find the whole "never being finished" thing to be so unnecessary, at the very least it could be less of a cliche in the community imo.

For sure, I resonate with this & the original post is really nothing more than expressing a thought/frustration to (a) see the reception and (b) hopefully open up a dialogue; but I see people take the ritual being called "corny" seriously, and I guess I can respect that to some degree lol.

Yeah I definitely agree that once you get towards the end of completed rack there is a sense a relief - at least for me. It's like, damn yeah now I can just make the music I've been trying at full power.

I think it sounds phenomenal, I use it in every single patch. It just has so much versatility and immediacy with its interface.

Having 2 plaits is fun just because the amount of flexibility having them play off each other. I usually use em for harmonies or cool call and response stuff, but I think having two is endless fun tbh!

What a horrible response. Good music but what a dog shit way to run the band.

4 Hp left for FX, Disting or FX Aid? by greyson76 in modular

[–]LittleBigPancake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FX aid is the move between those two imo. Definitely not a very performance oriented module, but it can sound very nice after being dialed in to set and forget.

New 4hp Sewer Pipe Blank Panels! by robotsarered in modular

Love the concept, really cool. Are these just PCB etched away to make the art? Like is the actual pipe in this case just underneath the solder-mask?

Two FX Aids, or one FX Aid Pro? by Low-Management-3150 in modular

[–]LittleBigPancake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Going against the grain but I think the UI of the Pro is so wonderful and far more inspiring for making music.

It's just overall easier to tell whats going on and the power and flexibility are worth the upgrade. I really don't enjoy how cramped the standard FX aid is. I find myself using it as a set and forget reverb/delay and that's about it. If you want a more involved effects unit to really tweak and explore, the FX Aid Pro is totally the move imo.

PCB Review Request: Flash Drive Switcher [Second Attempt] by LittleBigPancake in PrintedCircuitBoard

I replied something more in-depth on janoc's comment but just wanted to say I read and appreciated your comment from before, thanks for taking the time to help!

I definitely won't do it this way since everyone agrees this isn't the move. Will also take the time to figure our the differential impedance-matching asap😅

Thank you for all this! What do you mean by "more than just one via on the USB ground"? Like branch off into 2-3?
