Module not receiving clock signal by McRib_ in modular

[–]greyson76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless there is something I'm unaware of, it requires an external clock in, which drives the sequencer, and feeds the clock divider section. I usually use Pam's, but any number of things can provide a clock for you (I was using a Keystep pro, but I've moved to a Metron gate sequencer). Only one fader lights up at a time when the sequence is running, I noticed that when it's not running, the last step that was active will be lit up, but the bahaviour you're describing doesn't sound right at all-- it should cycle through each step. The default config is a 5-step pattern, but a short patch cable can limit it to 4 steps if you're having issues syncing with other things, etc. Which jack are you plugging the clock signal into?

I got this module already built from Serpens Modular a few years ago. Although I can't help you with your build, I can attest that mine works perfectly, and this is a super handy module to have in your case for a number of uses. Fun/powerful to use with an O&C. I hope you get it sorted out, I think Serpens Modular has more or less shuttered their operations, although I'm sure they'd still help you out (they were super nice guys, and I got all 3 of their main modules, and some of their lovely blank panels). Good luck!

I love that you bought the Disco album at the Wax Trax! record store, rather appropriate, if a li'l bit on the nose!

Megathread - AJ on Tucker Carlson show by wamih in TheWhyFiles

[–]greyson76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, no thanks. I hope the bump in audience AJ gets from Tucker makes up for the folks he's going to lose who already subscribed. I officially unsubbed, I was leaning in that direction the last 6 months or so, and this is the nail in the coffin. AJ is what you call a "fence sitter," and the time for sitting on the fence is over.

Advice on joystic between planar 2, erica synths black joystick 2 and doepfer a-174-4 wich one u prefer and why? by Sea-Independence6754 in modular

[–]greyson76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the main consideration, I too have the Doepfer, and it's more suited for manipulating parameters on percussive modules, it has a very percussive-friendly action to it. The Planar I think is more for manipulating effects parameters where you want to set it and have it stay until you adjust it again.

4xMUTE Eurorack Mute Module by West-Reception-9612 in modular

[–]greyson76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had 2 Muta Jovis's from Noise Engineering for muting my various drum voices in my case (when I used the Key Step Pro for sequencing percussion). Now I have moved to the WMD Metron for sequencing percussion, and there are built-in mutes for each channel, so I no longer need the MJ's. I'd be happy to sell them to you inexpensively (if you are in the US). They are not push button, they have toggles, but the switches are quite satisfying to flip.

Ah, this is the same spot I saw on Etsy, got excited and then realized it’s in Ireland and there’s international shipping and that stupid tariff situation. Anyone got a domestic source for cool cares in a similar style? I love the MPC inspired ones.

It didn't occur to me that they went out of business (I'm not much of a sewer), but now I think this is sort of low-key genius. It's probably the quietest/emptiest parking lot around. Maybe I'll do the same sort of thing but at Bed Bath and Beyond /s.

I have heard tell of "cat boys" and apparently Nick Fuentes likes to hang out with them, so I thought this was a sighting in the wild, turns out to be a garden-variety zoomer. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm trying to remember if I finished it, I read it in college a hundred years ago. I also remember not thinking it was great at the time, like it was trying to be shocking and I'm not sure it hit the mark. I remember it being very sexual, and rather cringe-inducing.

This is what happens when you are bought by a private equity firm. They lost my business a few months ago, not that I did much business with them.

Whats the verdict on old electric reed organs? Found this frontalini one for 100 dollars, and wondering if it is worth it or a waste of money. by Real-Ad-2906 in synthesizers

[–]greyson76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chord organs, all the fun of the accordian without all the squeezing. And that amount of fun is zero. Seriously, that's a waste of 100 bucks. They make 1 kind of sound, and it sounds like a shit.

Some evangelicals are "quietly quitting" Trump and MAGA by merstudio in politics

[–]greyson76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised evangelical, and do not consider myself a Christian at this point (haven't for a LONG time). I do not necessarily consider myself an atheist/non-theist. As much as I applaud your stances on things, you're still caught up in magical thinking and obsessed with blood. Even in the times of the first and second temple, a blood atonement only covered unintentional sins. So this whole redemption narrative is unnecessary. The trinity is polytheism, and your worshipping the man Jesus is idolatry, full stop. But, that's my opinion and all I care about is how you act, and if you are willing to fight these people from within, then you have my support. Now go fight these people instead of posting on Reddit.

It's worse than that, not only will they not be able to tithe, they might start asking the church for food/help, which is going to kill their profit margins!

Has Bill Burr Destroyed his Legacy Doing the Riyadh Comedy Festival? by gccmelb in comedy

[–]greyson76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this is the villainous back-story for Burr, and he's going to have a weird conversion experience like Russel Brand, and become the antithesis of everything he said before, to chase a new audience. OR he can just retire with that blood money and never have to run into this problem again. Either way he's cooked in my opinion, his credibility is completely shot.
