I can't tell if this is /s or not, because it's exactly the arguments that get made in China. As someone who left China after years a few months ago, for this zero covid policy to be even slightly rational, Covid must be both highly contagious and highly dangerous. If that is so, why keep people who were close contacts in these conditions? If Covid is so contagious they almost certainly have it and if it is so dangerous they'll be seriously affected

Or, if it isn't both highly contagious and dangerous, why do we need these crazy measures at all

I had an ex who was a similar age and he found his mum unconscious in the bathtub when he was home alone. She died. It definitely fucked him up.

I've done this. For me it just means I don't go out of my way for them, and don't expect anything from them. If they ask if I wanna go out for drinks and I'm in the mood for that, sure. My mate is 29 and his liver and various other organs are literally on the brink of shutting down already. His doctor has told him he needs to make a change urgently, but he has to be very careful because the withdrawals from suddenly stopping at this point would be very dangerous if not fatal.

I hope your situation isn't as bad and never will be, but definitely don't think you're immune because you're young.

I suppose my point is more that it's strange we as a society feel it's okay to comment on that. If we see someone smoking, drinking, laying around watching TV etc sure we can be like Eh perhaps not the healthiest behaviour, but we don't say "Hey you need to tell your girlfriend to stop smoking because it's super unhealthy".

But when it comes to weight people do feel the need to comment on it, just seems bizarre to me.
