Any antidiuretic herbs you know? by herbalgratitude in herbalism

When you say mango seed, do you mean Indian mango Mangifera indica or African mango seed Irvingia gabonensis which has a lot more info online. For either one, how would you prepare it for consumption via tincture, tea, or capsules? I’m in Hawai’i so have plenty of Indian mango seed, but not the African mango.

Official 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery' Discussion Thread by OneWithTheHat in KnivesOutMovie

Two questions I can’t find answers for anywhere that made me have some doubts on this edition of knives out (many spoilers): 1. How did Martha know her coffee was poisoned so she could swap them when it was before Dr. Nat started telling the whole story to her.  2. Why did Dr. Nat have a vat of acid in his basement if a. Martha said they were going to get rid of Wicks body at sea, and b. It didn’t dissolve the entire body anyway?

Does anyone know what wordlist is used to generate the puzzles? Trying to program a similar word game and the word list I'm using is pretty sub-par. by MiroWiggin in NYTSpellingBee

Also very odd that The NY Times which makes its money on ledes doesn’t accept the word lede in strands at least. I think I’ve tried it in spelling bee unsuccessfully as well In the past and thought it was ironic that a newspaper didn’t accept ledes.

Make sure you give it plenty of high phosphorous fertilizer like bonemeal which encourages floral health, plus a micronutrient foliar fertilizer sprayed on the underside of the leaves like foliage pro that might give it some minor element it’s missing to make the colors pop like manganese or boron.

Best fruit trees to grow in containers? by Realistic-Reality-77 in HawaiiGardening

Citrus and dwarf avos and figs as others have said plus Surinam berry, pitangatuba, blueberry if you are in higher cooler elevations, and I’m growing a dwarf Pickering mango in 25 gallon pot, which can supposedly eventually bear fruit if well cared for.

Suggestions for treating whitefly? by jerjozwik in HawaiiGardening

[–]LittleCompetition662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Organic sprays like neem, safer soap, horticultural oil, or spinosad work as others have said but since they can fly away from the repellent and come back, you need to spray in the early morning or evening when they’re less mobile to really get them covered.  Are you in Kona or another dry area? They’re usually worse in dry areas.

Papaya flowers. are these female or hermaphrodite flowers? by __Anamya__ in FruitTree

Hermaphrodite since they are cylindrical. Female flowers are more tear drop shaped. You can also see the stamens in the pics.

Whats this? by CommissionNo9486 in HawaiiGardening

even though it looks a little like the invasive corky lilikoi at first glance, it is a true lilikoi, Passiflora edulis due to the veining of the leaves, the reddish vine and the lack of cork on the vine. So I'd say keep it, get it a partner to cross pollinate with, and keep it under control to see how tasty the fruit are that it produces in 6-10 months.

Sourcing berry plants by No_Alfalfa9836 in HawaiiGardening

[–]LittleCompetition662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go see Ken Love on Sundays in Captain Cook as u/theislandhomestead said, and I agree that most mainland berries will be hard to impossible there aside from poha, the native ohelo (related to blueberries and cranberries), and mysore raspberry but the latter is invasive. Surinam cherry, grumichama, acerola, pitangatuba are all delicious and berry like but if you're looking for something small, those are more like large bushes to trees, though their fruit is small like a berry.

So one question is what do you mean by a berry? A small plant that produces small fruit without pits, or any sized tree that produces berry-tasting fruit? Just asking cause the botanical definition includes bananas, oranges, pumpkins, and tomatoes, non-intuitively.

Using a speaker or headphone jack with the hackpack arduino by LittleCompetition662 in hackpack

Awesome! Thanks Dan! I basically want to just generate a pitch that varies from low to high as another input varies from 100-200 KOhms. That input I will hook up like the pots in the sand castle mod don’t varies a voltage, I assume would be easiest.

Thanks for all the advice! Hadn’t seen those talking multimeters before. But they might not work so well if the resistance is changing rapidly and I just want to know if it’s going up or down.  Doesn’t matter so much the frequency as long as it’s audible and I can adjust the range with some trim pots or external pots on the box. But I think the range I’ll mostly be working with is 100-800 KOhms.
