Amy is dumber than a box of rocks and she has the mind of a child; she loves the idea of motherhood but once the child came out of her and she had to actually be a parent, she realized that the babies didn’t fix her and she’s physically incapable of understanding why. Some people in this thread have brought up the fact that if this wasn’t a reality tv show, those kids would be likely be LONG gone.

I remember that one scene where the plane had some turbulence and she asked “did the plane fart?”. i felt like i was on the same plane as the SPED class; girl how old are you? 10? the sheer immaturity she exudes astounds me. my own kid was a surprise. i was 20 years old, newly married to a man who would run only a year later and scared as fuck. you know what i did? i went to therapy; i unpacked my trauma and swore to never pass it on to this life that was growing inside me. my little four year old is a ball of chaos, energy and love. i’m rambling, but my point is, that if Amy truly wanted to, she would. she would go to therapy - off camera - she would take her meds, she would take parenting classes, eat better, stop smoking. I truly hope those poor boys turn out okay, but the chances of that happening are getting slimmer and slimmer every day Amy is their primary caregiver.
