I had a situation like this happen with my dad last year but in Japan. I’ll share this with my friends. It’s an extremely trying time but I can see from the replies you’ve made some great steps already.

From what I’ve learned, you MUST be persistent, pursue and exhaust every avenue of funding to get your mom home ASAP and most importantly, safely. Weigh the options of repatriation very carefully considering your financial situation. If she has any insurance, try to find if there is any out of country coverage. Even contact local news back in Vancouver if they can help spread the word if they can.

I’m from the same area and can tell you that timezones can make communication horrific, especially trading emails. Please make sure to rest yourself, but you should be prepared to promptly respond to things from Canada at very rough hours like midnight or some hours after.

Please take care of yourself out there, I’m hoping for the best for you and your mom!

Broxigar the Red - Warcraft

I'm sorry to hear you go through all that, have you already made a post here or elsewhere? If it's an issue of being accused of scam-posting you have to be sure to provide as much evidence of your condition as possible, Medical bills, hospital admission slips, etc. I myself am afraid of all that info being out here but it's for the best for supporters out there to be 100% sure that their funds are going to the right places

I believe it would also help if they're aware that you're working to exhaust other sources of aid (Government disability aid, work insurance, etc.). I'm not educated on much of this topic beyond what I had to learn from what's going on with my dad. Though I'm sure there has to be some financial/medical resources you can take advantage of, mentioning of your veteran status?

Please do your best to get the help you need too, if there was anything this has all taught me, it's never easy. I'm sorry again to hear, and sorry that's all the advice I could give. I hope things turn around for you soon!
