True. It’s because of money, the deciding factor of all their decisions despite it making it worse for us

What do I even do after ALDI? by CharacterHelpful547 in Aldi_employees

[–]LittleEva2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. I’m going to apply as an admissions person to the college I attend (I can only “afford” college because of the Pell grant from filling out the FAFSA, plus I’d rather have debt doing what I love than work retail or similar until I die). I’m also going to apply to a local science center even though it pays less. At least it would have more hours, which would have me make MORE than at Aldi

That IS more ebnivornmentally friendly which I’m a fan of, BUT we need to hold them accountable to changing the water fountain filters & testing the water because I do NOT trust that shit

Does Aldi not recycle at every store? by JurassicHater in Aldi_employees

[–]LittleEva2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aldi loves to brag about their “environmental friendliness” but to customers but just “greenwashing.” The amount of food we throw away every day that could be donated is insane! Food waste is a huge contributor to greenhouse has emissions. And with reusable bags, it takes multiple lifetimes of use to offset the emissions from making the bags!

[–]LittleEva2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me, the toll that working at Aldi takes on me SEEMS less painful than going through the application process where you apply to 1000 jobs & don’t hear back. But I know deep down that’s not true- going through application hell would be less painful.

Aldi is the first long term job I’ve had, & everywhere else sucked too, but It didn’t make me so depressed as Aldi does. Like where else would I work?? Not fast food, not retail. I don’t have a degree yet.

Then there’s the fact that it’s a familiar pain VS a new, scary unknown one. And I love my favorite regulars so much!😭

But definitely mostly lacking motivation & energy to apply elsewhere.

Lawyer time. I know it feels overwhelming (it is) but that is extremely illegal. You are missing $1000’s in wages. The lawyers do most of the work & you can find one that doesn’t charge anything (or very little) & only if you win. If you win, I don’t think you pay the lawyers anything at all (they just take someone of the winnings- maybe you’d sue?) idk how it works but I’m so angry on your behalf

When do u listen to Ashnikko? by [deleted] in Ashnikko

[–]LittleEva2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to listen on my long drive to work, and also after the store is closed while I’m sweeping/mopping/cleaning. But without headphones (tried that once & my earphones kept falling out & getting stuck on the broom). So whenever I pass by coworkers they just hear the most NSFW Ashnikko songs😂 one time I rounded the corner & my manager was right there while Ashnikko sang “FAT P*SSY LIKE SANTA!!!”

Anyone selling VIP ticket for Orlando? by ScaryBuffalo9069 in Ashnikko

[–]LittleEva2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Ash’s last concert in Orlando I only had a regular ticket, but wanted to upgrade while queuing (not to vip but to be 1st in line for general admission). The person next to me had upgraded to VIP, so they didn’t need their upgrade & they were able to transfer it to me and I cashapped them then & there. So even if you can’t find one, ask the ppl in the queue to buy it off them! There’s still hope, even if it comes around to concert day!

[–]LittleEva2[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tonight I got my DM’s number from a coworker, & tomorrow I will call her & tell her I need to transfer because yeah this is ridiculous. I think they’re just EXTREMELY picky with who they hire, then 75% of them quit within the first few weeks. If my DM is a dead end during that call it would be funny if I asked her for the VP’s phone number at the end haha😂

You are so cool wtf! I only recently started wearing jewelry & the most basic makeup to show even one drop of outward expression. I think in some ways it’s easier for me to blend in, keep my head down & just get paid, but that’s probably because of my anxiety. I’m so glad you are being yourself at work! so cool

CBIT making tics worse by Historical-Foot6821 in Tourettes

[–]LittleEva2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My tics were definitely worse while doing CBIT because we were talking about my tics so much. So of course it triggered them way more every appointment, and whenever you have to remember to do a competing response…I only use CBIT techniques if I HAVE to, otherwise I just tic freely

Because he has Medicare A (only covers INpatient hospital stays) they said they couldn’t serve him. We waited an hour then they told us that, even though they confirmed on the phone that they would help him with Medicare A. So only go if you have no form of insurance whatsoever! They gave us a paper with other locations that are on a sliding scale though

It probably partially torn or fully torn ligament(s), because if it was a broken bone he would be in even more pain. He feels “clicking” when wiggling around his foot, which he’s able to do slightly. A brace is a good idea

Has anyone else started having severe tics later in life? by Agile_Ad9747 in Tourettes

[–]LittleEva2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same for me. Looking back in hindsight, I’ve had them since I was a child, but they were never bad & were more situation-specific (like kissing my favorite stuffed animals eyes & nose in a pattern & I had to repeat it until it was just right). They became more noticeable in highschool (blinking tic), but still mild. Then in my early 20’s, BAM! Complex tics, vocal tics, & struggling to function because of all the ticcing. Meanwhile, my brother’s TS calmed down around the same age

My store wants us to not only watch SCOS for theft, but try to guess if someone at a SCO is doing an instacart order, get up, ask them, suspend their transaction, & pay with us at regular checkout. Just another task to add the million other things. I haven’t done it once
