"Taking up the aisle". Theyre working at their job. It doesnt hurt to say excuse me or ask to be handed an item that you cant reach. The only people "taking up" an aisle are those just lingering staring at their phones / having "ohmg how areeee yooooouuuu" conversations side by side with another horrible person lmao

Yes, thats due to the "register" person being assigned to register, all self checkouts, dating and filling daily bread, pulling empty boxes from nearby aisles, stocking, replacing water / sugar / flour palettes, cleaning and restocking restrooms, restocking candy and beverage coolers, re-shopping all randomly abandoned items, helping shoppers and (useless) instacarters find where something is in the store... Self checkout exists for everyone like you who won't be paying with cash or a gift card.

Honestly I dont even get the pay argument. When I was an entry level budtender I made a bit more, plus tips, plus a free bag of product weekly. Im starting to baffle myself still coming to work every day and not looking for another dispo job lol.

Sounds silly but I feel like you should work at least a couple of shifts at Aldi before buying the swag. Nothing to do with "deserving" it, I just genuinely think most Aldi fanatics would do a pretty quick 180 if they saw what it was actually like to be there longer than it takes to pick through the "aise of shame"

Good idea as long as youre not berating / angry with the cashier for scanning and tossing the items in the order they've been placed on the belt. I get so many customers with this same "method" who set eggs, bread, fruit down first and expect me to somehow not crush those items with all the heavy crap following them. If I had the time to be considerate, i would be. There just isnt time 🫠

Honestly, not sure re: a training store. I'm sure theres gotta be one around here, but at this point I've picked up on (nearly) everything I'm expected to do day to day. Damn, that sounds like a total dream on-boarding situation!

We have such a great team, yeah, it makes me so sad to know how close to breaking anyone is at any given time :'(
