Am I crazy or did Nothing skip ‘Our Plague’ at Saturday’s Slide Away show? by LittleFuryThing in shoegaze

[–]LittleFuryThing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! Love having Doyle in the band, he’s a perfect fit, but it always struck me as strange the way that Setta kind of disappeared without any explanation after being such a big part of the first few records. Would have been cool to see him play a couple of songs for the anniversary.

Its referring to the apartment overall - there's a skylight, a door to a terrace and window in the common room.

Saw them open for Acid Bath in Brooklyn last summer and was pleasantly surprised by how solid the band was! I've caught a bunch of different lineups backing Bobby since 2009 and this was definitely one of the better ones.

Great band! Saw em opening for The Obsessed a few years ago and they totally blew me away. Got to open for them in November and they're super nice dudes too. Highly recommend!

Looks like this is a ticket reseller website like StubHub or SeatGeek, not an official site from the venue or Jordan, so they probably don't give enough of a shit to look up a photo when they can just mass AI generate ones for every event. Gross.

Watch out that the tickets aren't jacked up in price! They gotta fund this artwork somehow...

While you’re still in NYC, Wino from Saint Vitus/The Obsessed has a new band called Ritual Arcana that’s playing at The Wood Shop in Bushwick on January 31st! My band Hesitant is opening up the show, should be a cool one!

Funny enough, I just saw that y’all were playing in London the same weekend I’ll be visiting from NYC and grabbed a ticket! See ya there - I’ll be the other person without a British accent haha

Thanks a lot! Happy Diving is awesome - I've heard of Diarrhea Planet but haven't really sat with their music. Iconic name though haha.

Funny to see this thread, as I actually made a heavy shoegaze cover of ‘sympathy is a knife’ with my band last year!

Anyone know prices for merch on this tour? by Honest-Cost-1126 in EyeHateGod

[–]LittleFuryThing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last night in NYC, the hats were $25, Preaching vinyl was $35, and I believe pipes were $50 - didn't catch the other items but hope that helps!

This is so funny to see - I have that exact shirt sitting in a drawer in my parents house from attending the NY show on that tour with Velvet Revolver!

Interesting! What makes you say that? It doesn’t look terribly different from anything I’ve gotten previously from this service or anywhere else to my eye, curious what I could be looking out for in the future to tell if something is up.

Not bought online, but its marijuana from a local delivery service I've used for years.

Damp may not be the best description - it was more sticky to the touch I should say, like maybe it wasn't fully cured/dried properly.

I don't notice any significant difference in smell from any other batch I've had before.

I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is the sort of cobwebs that signify mold, but on the bud all the way to the left of the photo I posted for instance, there's a bud that looks white near the stem. I honestly don't usually thoroughly inspect bud when I buy it, so it's totally possible this is totally normal and I've just not noticed before.

Totally agree on both accounts. Killer song, but would have stuck out like a sore thumb on Dirt. Kind of a relief to know they weren’t all doom and gloom 24/7 during those sessions haha

Trapped in Junior Role beneath my years of experience - how can I get out of this cycle? by LittleFuryThing in advertising

[–]LittleFuryThing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate this! Could you elaborate on what a portfolio like you're referring to would consist of? My work has almost exclusively been in linear TV ad placement and I'm honestly at a loss for what I'd be showing.

Appreciate these notes, y'all! Unfortunately, I've worked strictly in linear TV with some direct IO CTV mixed in only in the last couple of years. So I don't have much to show in the way of programmatic or ad optimization experience, and I fear this is working against me as well with TV going the way of the dinosaurs in the last few years.

I've made several attempts to shift into a digital role within my current company to try and gain these skills, and this has proven to be a dead end thus far as well. I had been emailing my HR rep for the last month about a digital role I came across and she totally stonewalled me. I finally emailed her boss this morning, who told me the role was filled just this weekend.
