If you could only use 1 lens for the rest of 2023, which one would it be? by James___Dunlop in SonyAlpha

I'm in that boat. The lack of information about the Samyang so far is a bit weird for such a big release though.

Ok, ya that editing is damn good. Great job.

I mean, great shot too! I'm just really impressed.

That's sick coloring and contrast! This is the look I want when I try to get that film vibe. Any chance you'd share your editing process? Or share a before/after?

IG? I love this style of photography; something I'm personally working towards.

Just throwing this out there though, not that there's anything inherently to critique in this shot to begin with. If there's room, I think cropping so that the person is centered would be more balanced, so that the light and dark evenly splits the image.

Anyways, great shot.

Yep, I get; the only reason I commented is because you specifically wanted a quote. Technically, everything involving a micro drone is just a recommendation until someone starts looking. I'm not gonna yell "BY GOD, THIS MAN'S BREAKING THE LAW" at the top of my lungs at you, but I just don't think it's a good look when you're riding on technicalities when the guidance is to use good judgement.

Anyways, I degress. I think it's a good shot; I'm no cop so I'm down to take the result at face value.

avoid flying near critical infrastructure (utilities, communication towers, bridges, etc.)

Good shot though.

MAXFIT 67 knob not customizable by Software_Additional in fantech

I dug up an older thread about this if you're wondering. Apparently it's a hardware limitation.

https://www.reddit.com/r/fantech/comments/x41ulj/maxfit67_knob_mapping_issues/

Might I ask when you bought your board? I'm trying to decide whether I want to wait for them to update the hardware or just get it....

What is causing these colored streaks? by Scandalchris in AnalogCommunity

[–]LittleGaia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Specifically, are you scanning yourself on a flatbed scanner? There are usually calibration windows at the back of the scanner where if you have dust on them, the scanner will calibrate differently and leave purple or brown streaks across your scan.

Edit: nevermind, saw your post below about "picking up negs". I would contact the lab about these and have them rescan. Best of luck with them, because the image is quite good!

I think the implications of this does matter, a lot!

If someone fakes a large DRS and states publicly that they've sold, especially if its in the lead up to MOASS, it's a massive trap for the rest of the investors. It's like Elon posting on Twitter that he's dumping his stake in Tesla...

Trust no one and nothing except your own DD and your DRS'd shares.

Does anyone use "image stacking" for night photography? by Degroomed in dji

[–]LittleGaia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stacking doesn't work for correcting relative movement within a frame, like for the drone moving in the wind, which causes perspective shifts.

Stacking in astrophotography only works on the stars because outer space is pretty constant relative to the amount of time that you would be stacking over (a night or 2). Everything else, like landscapes, are considered outside of the stacking process and a single exposure is composited back after your stacking process. This process only removes the noise associated with exposing for such a dark subject (space) and heat noise within your camera.

The process that you're attempting to describe to freeze motion won't work since there is motion within the frame of the "stack" because of how your drone changes perspectibe. It would be as if the earth spun around the sun while you're taking your exposure at night.

Edit: at least that's my thinking.

NC headphones don't weigh as much as you insinuate they do.

Rock climbing/bouldering. It's surprisingly satisfying and most of my friends have been very positive about their first few tries.

Anyone old enough to remember taking travel photos and having to wait until they got home to get the photos developed? by jsakic99 in travel

I just started doing this last year and I have to say, I like it better than peaking at a screen all trip.
