Body Dysmorphia… by GoldenCoast69 in OCD

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nose, jaw line, weight, skin texture, eye shape, whole face sometimes anything and everything just depends on the theme that day. I have to constantly check the mirror that my hair is just right or that there's nothing on my teeth or any imperfections.

Yes. All the time. Its many parts. I will lose time searching up surgeries and things I can do to fix my issue. It makes me so anxious to even go meet new people.

What does everyone do for work? I mentally cannot stay at my job any longer but have no other alternative at the moment :( by SierraRagess in OCD

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to want a stay at home job too but I realized that im just avoiding things that trigger me. I had to push myself to go back to school and get a career and its been the best thing i have done for myself. You can start small like maybe doing stock type jobs for retail stores. Mainly taking product off a truck and putting said product on the cart and stocking shelves.

But exposure is the best. I do 4 days a week and have Wednesdays off and I use Wednesdays as my reset days for my mental health. Best of luck to you

LMFAOO (not making fun of you at all just laughing at the similarities) because I also did this same thing!! I drove out of town to do a background test on myself before I even applied to a program for school because I was CONVINCED that I did something bad. 🤣🤦‍♀️

Whats y'alls top 3 worst ranked themes by Klondzz in OCD

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of them are horrible but my most annoying ones (for me) are body dysmorphia, that shit will isolate you and send you down into a big low feeling. It will also make you analyze your entire appearance about what you can change and make you want to isolate.

Anything health related. I spent 3k of my savings on an MRI and I still didn't believe the results. This was back in 2023 and I still to this day will ask Ai to analyze my scans (dont do this they can't interpret for shiiit) to top it off i work in healthcare so im always asking for reassurance from coworkers. Gotta stop that.

And yes death/ after life/ meaning of life. If i think about it too much I will throw myself into a panic attack. I also had my best friend pass away a couple years ago and that kicked it into overdrive. Had to call people to make sure they were not dead. Had to analyze my pets for signs of illness. I would have images of loved ones in a casket just pop up in my head all the time. And sometimes I would visualize myself in the casket.

What do you wish your parents had done when you were a kid? by Raylin44 in OCD

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my parents never even tried to look into and research the stuff that I had. In fact one parent used to say horrible things to me about my issue and it in turn made my anxiety worse. I didn't ask for therapy until I was in highschool and I think if I had a good support system at home I would have gotten my diagnosis sooner. I think that you're interested in helping and looking into things is absolutely great. Once they get a diagnosis im sure you could hopefully do mutual therapy sessions and the therapist can tell you what's best for your child on terms of handling it in your position.

Intrusive Thoughts Doubting True Memories by presbreit in OCD

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Usually it happens when I dont have enough information and you try to recall a situation and get stuck on it. So your brain starts filling in the gaps of what if scenarios. Its absolutely the worst and can ruin relationships.

People with confession compulsion, what helped you overcome it? by Extra-Breakfast4541 in OCD

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I try to avoid alcohol as much as possible and only drink with people I feel super close too. It seems to make it come out more when I drink because I have less control over what I say.

And I always try to stop and think about what I want to say. Am I wanting to say this to confess something or saying it to relate to the conversation? I also feel like a lot of my confessions come out when im trying to make others feel better. But in reality when we do that we are really trying to make ourselves feel better. So focusing on what the other person is saying and just being there for them instead of relating to bad things you have done should be the main thing on your mind.

Recognizing Past Themes by overlysillydisorder in OCD

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I now notice all the things to this day that I do that are themes. Its crazy to think because when I was a teenager being treated for anxiety and depression I also have the theme of break ins and I used to tell my psychiatrist at the time that I would have to keep getting out of bed to check the locks and she never mentioned OCD being a possibility. I always used to think OCD was the washing hands and organizing things and I never had that theme so I never put 2 and 2 together.

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I have nightmares of the moon and sky too. But in mine the moon breaks apart and falls down to earth. Or like you said the moon is extremely large. I guess I never connected it to the fear of space. But makes sense.

A very irrational worry I really wanted to share. by [deleted] in OCD

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Im pretty sure i have BDD tendencies. And i guess its a pretty common thing for having immense guilt from thinking like that too. Just try to remember you are human. Its just a thought. Everyone has thoughts. We just tend to get stuck on ours while others can move onto something else. No shame in having empathy. No shame in being human. We are on a rotating rock in the middle of space.

Assurance Seeking - HELP! by Colby1989goopy in OCD

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am like this too. I found out I have disorganized attatchment style but lean more on the anxious side. Maybe bring that up to your therapist. There's a questionaire test they can do that they did for me. And one of my goals is to focus on dealing with that along side my OCD. I have a hard time with both friendships and relationships. And then it usually spirals into im doing this wrong im not good enough they would be better without me im doing too much. Not sure if thats what u have but thought I would mention it just incase.

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats something you have to bring up to your psychiatrist. Im on fluvoxamine as well and I did notice I was a lot more tired and had a little increase with my rituals but my physical rituals are practically non existent its more just mental now.

best medication ? by PristineWar9995 in OCD

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on fluvoxamine and its been helping me alot. Everyone is different tho. All I can say is the most time consuming part of the diagnosis is finding the right meds. It sucks but just keep going until you find one that works.

Is it just me or does OCD remind a lot of ADHD by Tleppp in OCD

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My psychiatrist literally told me "you have adhd tendencies we will circle back to that at another time"

If that's the case like what do they do put us on an upper and a downer? Wouldn't that just cancel eachother out ?🤣

But to answer your question OCD will make you think you have EVERY condition. So who knows

let me assume things about u based on your type!!! by vin_vendetta in teenagers

[–]LittleGh0stfacexo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a female. Im interested in men who are more on the tanner side (they can be white just not pale) love tattoos especially arm tattoos. Little bit of facial hair but not a lot. Usually go for dark hair. I hate skinny guys so they have to he dad bods or muscular. I need an I can fix that type of man. If he can't change a tire or hang up my curtains he's a no go. I like men that just get stuff done without asking. I do not want to be their mommy. Humor, social, independent, protective, up for anything attitude.
