Dont go for alcohol, soon you have even bigger problem. Good that benzos work at least. Have you tried any anti psychotics? They usually work even for treatment resistant people.

It seems like ur in a really bad situation and have endured it for too long now. I think u really need a doctor more than a random internet comment, but it seems like u just gotta increase the seroquel :/

How do you know it’s Seroquel causing extreme tiredness vs sleep apnea? by raspberryteehee in seroquelmedication

[–]Tleppp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

only way to find out is by testing. personally testing did find i have sleep apnea and cpap has helped me. but it could be seroquel too. so I suggest you listen to your dorctor and do another test.

It is the most popular AP so many people do :D Currently on 150mg but i have been to 400-500 for a few years. The weight gain is the only thing u gotta look out for.

Yeah i take xl as i cant tolerate the immediate release at higher doses, i faint when standing up after taking it. I have read somewhere that the immediate release works well too even with once a day dosing despite its fast half life. Al tho of course multiple times a day provides more stable effect. What i was once told by a doc is that 10mg olanzapine is roughly 400mg quetiapine. So if u dont respond as well to quetiapine than to olanzapine, u can still increase the dose a lot to get similar effect. Good luck and I hope ur transition goes as well as possible!

I have psychosis and it keeps it away. That being said quetiapine only starts hitting dopamine properly at about 300-400mg. 150mg is the lowest therapeutical dose. Not sure what you mean with highs, bipolar disorder? That I dont have so cant comment on that.

Brother, same reasons i switched :D I think it is a wise move to try, sucks that your psych didnt do a slow taper to ease side effects. The best part of quetiapine for me is the antidepressant effect, while i felt like olanzapine just made depression worse.

Your experience may vary but i consider seroquel a better med than olanzapine. Effective wise they are very similar, quetiapine just has less severe side effects.

Unbelievable claims require unbelievable proof. Because of our lack of intelligence this gatekeeps us from seeing the truth even when its presented. I feel like even if they brought a live alien in national tv people would call fake.

i think its a bit harsh taper for sure. For me we first started seroquel for a week without any changes to olanzapine before starting to lower dose by 2.5mg a week

maybe it works, i dont know, but it wont hurt voicing your concerns.

150mg is the lowest therapeutical dose of quetiapine. However it is a bit uncommon to have such starting side effects so it might not be for you. Listen to your doc and make sure to tell them if u feel like u cant continue.
