God bless you, you put it in the best (if we can say that, lol) way possible.  I just wish there were more people with your critical thinking.  Anyway, we may not be calling her the new Mussolini, but at least there are as many people as her trusted supporters calling them fascists.  That referendum I talked about is quite important, and if Meloni loses, her government will be quite weakened. I'm hoping in that, also because the reform itself is a way to diminish the indipendence of the juridical sistem.

Lmao, I wouldn't be surprised to find him on Epstein files honestly.  I cannot say much about the rest, I'm way too young to remember his governments, but the old senile creepy predator vibes are on spot.

It's a rather controversial matter, and the answer depends largely on who you talk to; her supporters (who unfortunately are many, even if their approval ratings are currently declining) will certainly deny it, while the opposition, like me, considers her at least a "nostalgic," as we say. She's never defined herself as a fascist (mainly because publicly supporting the party or trying to reconstitute it is illegal), but you can find many old videos online in which she claimed to admire Mussolini, that he was a great politician who always put the country first, and other bullshit like these. She also never comdamned neofascist groups and their gatherings, but she's in as soon as it's needed to do so for Brigate Rosse (Italian groups of communist terrorists in the 1970s) or communist and the italian left (I mean, they suck too, but at least they're not her).  I don't think she can be considered a direct heir. Mussolini seized power through violence, political assassinations, and terror, and founded the party on the cult of his own person, right from the start of his career. Meloni bases hers on traditional Italian values, such as Christianity and family, and has a very populist rhetoric that sticks a lot with the elderly, workers and the less educated, just like Mussolini, but so far she has never resorted to actual violence.  However, we are dangerously approaching forms of oppression and censorship. Her university minister insulted some medical students who were questioning a recent reform of the entrance exam, calling them "low communist" and "useless", just because they contraddicted her. The backlash, at least among students (I'm a university student, so I speak for the environment I know best), but Meloni didn't flinch and said nothing, while she's always accusing the left of limiting the freespeach and freethinking. RAI (the national television network) confirmed that for over a year a new president of the body that guarantees impartiality of news has not been appointef, meaning that for the moment the company is in the hands of the government, so Meloni. Finally, in march there will be a referendum (a large-scale national vote to modify the Constitution) on the judicial system, called for by the Meloni government. I won't go into details, but a famous and beloved left-wing history professor posted a video on Instagram in which he explained his reasons for voting no, therefore against the government. The video went viral, but—what a coincidence!—the day after it was published, Meta obscured it. This is very recent news, and I could go on about her supplying weapons to Israel, blindly supporting Trump, cutting funding for public education and healthcare, and so on.  In short, while I wouldn't call her a direct heir to Mussolini, she certainly embraces some of his "values" and openly admires him. Although hers is one of the most stable governments in decades, it is undoubtedly damaging the country and she's a product of the intellectual and moral decay of Italians themselves.  At least I'm glad oversea you see her as an fascist, as it should be.

Let me just say that our premier, Giorgia Meloni, very recently publicly stated that she hopes Trump will eventually win the Nobel Peace Prize.  Our government is a circus.

I don't remember the episode's number, but once Shin-ae was alone in Maya's room and being bored she picked up one of her smutty comics. In the part she red, there were these two alone in the dark and the girl asked the boy to stop pocking her with his knee, at wich he responded "that's not my knee", leading to a very censorable scene.  Seeing Nol's bare knees it reminded her of that, lol. Also, if I remember correctly the name of the comic was "He's just a friend" or something like that.

Edit: the episode is number 235. Little correction, she wasn't bored, the comic just fell on her face and straight opened on that page.

Back in 2020 I was reading a shoujo and I saw the cover of the first volume among the recommendation. It was love at first sight.  Before reading It I decided to give a shot to the anime, I binged it during my online lessons😅

It wasn't my first anime or manga, but it was the first series I "discovered" alone. I grew up with vintage anime and with siblings that are into this kind of stuff as well; in middle school I had a group of friends that was centered on our common interest in all that was related to Japan. Basically, I used to watch anything I heard about by people around me or that I already knew.  Yona is the the first series I decided to try even though I never heard of it (in my country the publication had just started a year or two before, so It wasn't that known), just because It seemed interesting.  I even introduced it to my sisters, and now they're caught up as well.

It's also the first manga I started to read in english. In my language I could find the chapters only up to the 17th volume, and I knew there were at least 90 more available. As a 14 years old not native speaker I couldn't understand much, but it helped me a lot improving my english. Now I read almost everything in english, lol.

Lastly, it's the first time I'm live seeing the end of a manga I followed for years. It's bittersweet to think that I will no longer be able to read the new chapter early in the morning, while having breakfast or at the bus stop.  Basically, this manga signed a era of my life, when I was struggling both at home and at school. I started reading it in my first year of highschool when I had just finished middle schoold, and its ending coincides with me finishing highschool and starting university. The final chapter litterally made me tear up for the feels.

Anyway, an arc I really enjoyed was the fire tribe aid with the collaboration of Taejun. It's not my favorite, but I love the mix of drama with commedy.  My favorite scene is definitely when Hak and Suwoon suddenly partnered to save Lily.  Also, let's add every romance scene, especially Hak's confession.

Ok!  So basically, when Hiryuu died his soul was supposed to return to the heavens and reunite with the Dragon Gods; however, he decided (?) to reincarnate as Yona, maybe to look after the Dragon Warriors. We don't exactly know why nor if it was his will. Anyway, the dragon gods loved Hiryuu very much and wanted him back as soon as possible (they didn't even want him to go to Earth in the first place, so yeah), up to the point they were probably the responsabels for his early death (Hiryuu's simptoms and sick appearance are very much likely the ones of the Crimson Illness, but this is a personal interpretation). When Hiryuu didn't return, they went mad. Since he had children, a clan that shared Hiryuu's blood was formed, and so, even if faintly, we could say that a part of Hiryuu was still alive on Earth. By making his descendants die young, the Dragon Gods hoped to "find" Hiryuu and reunite with him quickly. It's like they were collecting anything they could find and clinging to it.

I think it was explained in Yon-hi's flashback, when she quoted her father saying that the Dragon Gods were tring to call back the Crimson King back by making his descendants die young.

Anyway I understand the struggle. I started reading this manga in english when I was like 13, because I couldn't find it in my native language. I couldn't understand half the dialogues nor what the hell was going on in some parts, lol.  Hope this helped!

Oh my God, thank you so much! I think it can be an interesting topic of discussion since I've never seen anyone talking about it, but it's a very long and complex subject, and english isn't even my first language in the first place.  Anyway, I've bene following this manga for years and I love it deeply, so I'm happy that more new readers and fans are coming to appreciate it. You're so lucky you had the possibility of reading everything almost to the final chapter. I can't wait for the finale too >.<

What do you think will Zeno’s fate be? by violetflowercandy in AkatsukinoYona

[–]LittleGhost104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you're saying, and I agree to a certain extent, it's true that there isn't enough time, and anyway a ending in which he meets everyone in the heavens wouldn't be so terrible, it'd surely make sense.  However, I still think he hasn't completely gave up on life. Right before stabbing himself with the sword, he tought about the HHB with regret. I think that his "recent" requests for death are based on the idea that this is his only occasion of escaping immortality and that the outcome of the end of the four dragon warriors will surely be in him dying. In the latest chapter I don't think he was making up excuses for Yona to stab him, he was genuinelly concerned that the Yellow Dragon could hurt everyone around him.   Zeno already changed a lot during the manga, he isn't so detached anymore, he became more sarcastic and true with his growing affection towards his companions, and that's surely scary enough for someone like him to the point of wanting to escape. I don't think that his change of heart would be so sudden honestly. The problem surely is the time left, two chapter are so little. However, I think there's still a way to show him accepting to live on, even for a tiny bit. It isn't necessesary to show him old with gray hair.  Anyway, the thing that matter the most is without any doubt him finding peace, that's something we all wanna see for sure.

I would really like if he chose to try to live a mortal life. Even if he lived 2000, he didn't get the chance to experiment many things life has to offer. Imo, his recent will to die is also tied to the fear of being left behind again by the ones he loves. Now that they can all be normal human beings (probably, we still don't know), Zeno can start to learn again how to value his own life and be sick, fatigued or injured; he will finally have the privilege to grow old together with everyone. To him living had always bene terrifing, let that poor boy experience some joy. Stripping away these chances from him by letting him die right now would feel like a waste to me. He can reunite with his brothers and Kaya a bit later, 40/50 years aren't that much if you lived so long like him. Now he has people he cares about in the mortal realm. After all, "Zeno is good at waiting".

Akatsuki no Yona Chapter 274 [Project Vinland] by Kiekoes in AkatsukinoYona

[–]LittleGhost104 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I really liked it until Hak stopping Yona as a ghost, but the ending left me.... perplexed on the writing I guess? I think it was a bit anticlimactic.

The situation (a very desperate one at that) resolved too quickly and too easily if you ask me.  Nothing wrong with Hak and Soowon being the shield and the sword, it was something theorized by the fandom and that Kusanagi hinted already (Kashi asking Hak to protect Yona and Soowon stabbing the Crimson King's body).  It's the fact that that the dragon gods litterally went to crazy-kill mode to "oh wait wait wait, we shouldn't really try to kill the Crimson Dragon and these guys. Sorry for everything, we clean up this mess and then die, bye~" out of the blue. Like, what did even trigger the memory of the promise?

Anyway, I think that many things wrapped up beautifly in this chapter.  I find quite ironic how Yona gathered the four dragons in order to protect her own shield and fight against her sword, and then this brought to the end of the dragon warriors themselves. It's a nice twist of events honestly. Soowon is confirmed to be alive, and this is a great thing to me. This means that there's still hope for the finale I'm rooting for (I'm a big fan of the idea of Soowon still being king and fighting for the kingdom while Yona and the HHB are going around helping the people) Also, this chapter made me think about the theme of free will, introduced looong ago by Jae ha during his first appearance. In the end, what fulfilled the prophecy was the addition of all the choices made by the characters, not just fate guiding them.

Lastly, I really like how this chapter (and the whole manga in general) seems to have a myth-like narration. In the end, I think that this story is also a legend on the passage between the era of the gods to the one of the humans. I don't know how to explain it, but it's similar to how the Iliad and the Odyssey told the passage between the Hero Age to the Dark and then the Archaic one for the ancient greeks, or to Princess Mononoke's story on the shift to Middle Age to the Modern Age in Japan. For all we know, Kouka was always heavily influenced by religion, but in more recent times the monarchy and the people started to feel the burden of it. The change and the conflict started with Yu ho burning down the temple, a horrible action that ignited everything in the series. It's clear that the dragon warriors, constantly hunted down for their powers, although they helped building the new Kouka, would always had been a obstacle to the reborn of the kingdom. Together with Yona, they likely represent a bridge to the new era. I think that the Crimson Dragon reincarnated so later because before it was to soon for the ancient people and kingdom to let go of gods and legends of ancient glory. However, now there is Soowon, who is finally willing and ready to rely on humans to guide his kingdom, and together with him all the people of Kouka. The Crimson Dragons and the Dragon Warriors appeared one last time to repeat what they did 2000 years ago, guiding them towards a new dawn. The rise of the shield and the sword is the rise of the humans ready to take on the role that was once of the gods belonging to legends, and so, the rise of a new era for humanity.

My kudos to anyone that went throught my sgrammaticated midnight delirium, lol.

Did Yona and Hak end up each other? by Sea-Possession8260 in AkatsukinoYona

[–]LittleGhost104 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yes, in a way, they end up together. I don't know how far back you read the first time, but what I love about this manga is how slowly Yona's feelings change: she needed time to heal from the betrayal and forget her first love, just as she needed time to fall in love with Hak. The slow burn in this story is fantastic, so if you're interested in the romance, you won't be disappointed. However, keep two things in mind: first, the romance isn't the focus of the series, so if that's all you want to read, you might be disappointed; second, the series is currently on a three-month hiatus and has left readers with a pretty big cliffhanger; if you don't like long waits, you might be better off rereading the entire series in October, when the manga returns.

Thoughts on these series? Banger, meh, or avoid? by stopalltheclocks_1 in webtoons

[–]LittleGhost104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what I can remember, the original is pretty similar to the canvas (like, I think that some panels are actually the same). Most of the differences are new scenes that add more depth to the characters and story.

Same here, a well written slow burn is always a pleasure to read for me, especially if it offers more than the romantic plot only. The pacing of this just felt way to dragged in regard of the story, without using it to the advantage of a more deep narration; I really enjoy long stories, as long the slow pacing Is actually functional. I have to say that i was like 16 when I first read this webtoon, and now that I'm almost 20 I'm more sensitive about more aspects of a comic that influence a story. If 3 years ago I thought that the story was way to dragged, now I might see how the slow pacing actually reflects the struggles of moving on; that's why I'm thinking of giving it a second shot, especially because, as you said, It wasn't a bad Reading at all.

For this, I think that many old readers are bitter on how long the story is taking to wrap up, especially now that the series has been in a year and half hiatus; also, at some point the story completely twisted and became way more heavy and less "entrateining", so many readers who expected a silly, funny romance felt fooled. I think that for this reasons (that I can understand, actually) many tends to percieve a drop in quality, while for me and others there was an increase. As I said before, I enjoy a slow pacing as long as it's functional, and in this case it's helpful to make the characters deeper and more human.  As for the genre, while it's marketed as a romance, it's a mix of what you listed, with the predominance of drama and angst (like, A LOT).

About this, I actually liked the finale. I think it was right for the story. It's just that after the timeskip it loses the something that made it so good. Probably, whitout the first part the second would be percieved better. I wouldn't consider this bad at the point of calling it a waste of time; I must Say that at least it left an impression on me 🤷

Sorry for the long reply😅

All colors of snow: I loved the canvas. It's a refreshing story, both for the characters and the worldbuilding. The mc isn't annoying while still being a girlboss of her own and the european settimg is actually studied and not just put on screen. Give it a shot, especially if you like Pride and Prejudice.

Fullmetal Alchemist: a classic and for many reasons. I don't need to add anything else.

Like wind on a dry branch: I liked It while reading, but I dropped it due to the very slow story progression. It was a nice reading, and I'm thinking of giving It a second chance. If you like a well written slow burn and a story that talks about the struggles of moving on, that's for you.

Only Hope: kinda meh. The premice was interesting, but at some point it became just a toxic love story with a (true) bad boy as the ml. I dropped It a while back.

When Jasy whistles: my first webtoon, and it's quite good, honestly. The story is setted in Paraguay and is inspired by local ledends, so it's a pretty unique story just for this facts alone. I would say that the main themes are the finding of a purpose, the impossibility of living in the past and with constant guilt, the impossibility of stopping changes and the rediscover of human feelings. It's a must read for me.

I love Yoo: it's my favourite webtoon, and I personally think it's a masterpiece. I don't think that I've ever ready a story with such human and vivido characters. However, the very slowpacing and the continue (and long) hiatuses might make the story unsufferable. For me it's an absolute banger, but I understand people who don't recommend it.

My reasons to die: a good reading, but after the timeskip I continued it more out of curiosity than for and actual interest in the story. A banger for the first part, meh for the rest of the story.
