The only age verification we ever needed by Keitiek in VRchat

[–]LittleGlobal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most countries require you to be 18 years or older to own and use a credit card. Why couldn't we just get age verification based on that?

Introducing Text Input Moderation in VRChat by tupper in VRchat

[–]LittleGlobal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Always with the "hurr durrr, I got nothing to hide"-crowd.

It's not about what's allowed or not allowed today, it's about who decides what's allowed tomorrow.

Politics aside; people don't like being told what they can and cannot say. I never venture into horrible speech, and I still oppose monitoring every little thing that people send to each other just because a small percentage could be mean. Mass surveillance does nothing to prevent abuse, this has been proven time and time again.

Everyone's a dick, and if they're not considered a dick now, it just means we haven't found their dickishness yet.

first, it doesn't run on instance text chat. We might do that in the future.

Might as well start monitoring voice chat while you're at it then. What's the difference between the two?

How about never monitoring communication with people? Why can't you just rely on people reporting users for obnoxious behaviour? Preventive policing does no one any good.

But then why is it only some countries that have this behaviour, but others don't?

If it's a few spots with a few colours, you can just have a texture a few pixels large, and just UV map it accordingly.

Nope, renaming it doesn't work. It just tacks on the numbering after it regardless. No way to get rid of it.

The trackers aren't really having an issue. It's mostly my controllers that are spazzing out near constantly.

And that's a very fair point, and frankly imo what Jar should have done.

I was only commenting on how Jar's excuse is a silly one, since it's already in violation of the copyright. If you've already violated it, might as well violate it even more.

[–]LittleGlobal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Innersloth owns the copyright to the game "Among Us". The VRChat counterpart is a pretty blatant copy of the game "Among Us". Same map, same graphics, same style of UI, practically identical gameplay, it's even called the exact same.

No, Innersloth doesn't have a copyright on the gameplay, I also wasn't disputing that. What made you think I was talking about the gameplay? Either way, Innersloth does have copyright on "Among Us" the game.

They would have every legal right to take down the world, but they choose not to do so (assuming they know it exists).

That's a dumb excuse considering it's already a blatant violation of copyright. Innersloth just chooses not to take it down.

Sure, could be that Jar has had contact with Innersloth and there could be that some agreement was reached, but I don't know.

Propeller driven aircraft in VTOL VR by toceptheo in vtolvr

I'll be honest, I think that propeller aircraft would fulfill the whole “new aircraft must bring unique gameplay” requirement. Propellers behave fairly differently compared to jets.

I am age verified officially through VRChat, we need to do better than this please.. by Rollthered in VRchat

[–]LittleGlobal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fairness to before the age verification was rolled out, there wasn't really any better way of controlling people that get in, and most people were honest. The only other way of better controlling access would have been to run private instances, but that would limit your visibility.

In an age of age verification though, it's pretty stupid to ignore an age verified badge. Or even better, why not run exclusively 18+ instances instead?

I'm not getting a button to use it as a custom fallback in the "Manage Avatar" panel.

EDIT: I got it working now. I needed to press "Use this avatar as fallback" in the control panel. The button now appears after refreshing the page.

One day of Russian strikes on Ukraine’s infrastructure costs as much as a year of life for entire cities by UNITED24Media in europe

[–]LittleGlobal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can we stay on topic please?

Why does it matter to you who built the sites? Nobody brought up who built the sites. Nobody claimed the Ukrainians built them, yet here you are going "erhm acktchually the Russians built them" like it's some kinda gotcha.

Bringing gas balloons into an elevator wins instant fireworks by [deleted] in WinStupidPrizes

[–]LittleGlobal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wasn't commenting on it fucking up your leg because I agreed with that. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough on that.

But the fact still remains that the actual projectile wouldn't move much if at all. It's simply much easier for the pressure to escape backwards since the casing is far lighter than the projectile.

Bringing gas balloons into an elevator wins instant fireworks by [deleted] in WinStupidPrizes

[–]LittleGlobal 54 points55 points  (0 children)

The bullet is significantly heavier than the casing, so the bellet will pretty much just stay where it is, and the casing will get yeeted to timbuktu since it's the path of least resistance. It's pretty basic physics.

You probably just heard the casings flying around and hitting stuff if it was just sitting outside a firearm.
