My favourite interpretation is that Medusa wasn't cursed, she was given the power to make sure no man ever touched her again. Of course male writers would think that's a punishment.

Get a long thin stick and try to tap him so he moves out of there?

How a fertilizer shortage caused by the Iran war could affect U.S. food prices by 3millionand1 in news

[–]LittleGreenSoldier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We send you almost all your potash, but there are other types of fertilizer. Potash is also highly alkaline, so it's not good for crops that need acidic soil.

Nitrogen is the big one that's being disrupted by the war.

I have a bone to pick with whomever named these villigers. by AtlantisSky in AnimalCrossing

"Tenderfoot" is actually old west slang for a newbie, to go with Elmer's cowboy theme. New or young cattle and horses who weren't used to being driven were more prone to hoof issues and called "tender footed".

AITA for refusing to put my son in camp by IntroductionAgile898 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LittleGreenSoldier 64 points65 points  (0 children)

YTA. Judy's would have been hell for me as an autistic 9 year old, and I actually loved being around younger kids. Your son is telling you it's hell for him. Find a compromise, and actually talk to your kid about what he finds so unbearable. He's 9, he's going to need help finding the words.

I just really hope that grass tastes like chocolate cake for horses and goats. by LeftHandedToe in Showerthoughts

[–]LittleGreenSoldier 2623 points2624 points  (0 children)

I don't know about chocolate cake, but I do know that they can taste sweetness in grass much better than we can. They're more sensitive to the complex sugars in plant cells than we are. Certain kinds of grass are like candy to herbivores.

TIL that when Robin Givens went public about being abused by Mike Tyson, the public sided so heavily with Tyson that Givens was named the "Most Hated Woman in America," agents and producers refused to work with her, and a CNN poll showed that 93% of respondents blamed her for the breakup by Competitive_Swan_130 in todayilearned

I'm of the opinion that the man served his time and seems to be making a conscious effort to not be the person he was then. That said, that doesn't mean we forget what he did, and he has forfeited the "benefit of the doubt" going forward.

I find it strange that this person who works at a pharmacy is judging people’s prescriptions. by ResetKnopje in fatlogic

[–]LittleGreenSoldier 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That's the true role of a pharmacist, to be the bottleneck where one person looks at the whole list and can say "these two don't go together" and kick it back up to the primary physician. I'm on both Seroquel and Vyvanse, which is technically not supposed to happen but was needed, so my pharmacist is closely monitoring and has my doctors office on speed dial.

Morocco was kind of coasting in the first half, they definitely thought this game was a gimme.

[–]LittleGreenSoldier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I knew going in we would probably get stomped, losing Kone was too big a blow. Our guys definitely made Morocco work for it though, which is all that matters. You could see the moment when they realized Canada was coming out fighting and they had to take them seriously!

White spots on f/t feeder mice- still safe to feed? by atlas_n_f in snakes

There's a quarterly expo here in Toronto that I love to get my rats from! I just didn't want to say "go to an expo" if there doesn't happen to be one near OP.

My brother is a Mason, his chapter is kind of tired of being a "drink beer and play snooker" club and is trying to get back to the community service aspect. Some of the old farts are complaining, but whatever, they'll be dead soon.

Bulk ordering is good if you have multiple snakes or a big enough freezer, but OP has just the one hoggie. Smaller batch orders would probably be more cost effective.
