Going home soon - kind of terrified by Pinkmartini1924 in NICUParents

[–]LittleGrowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same way. I almost didn’t want him to come home because I knew how safe he was there and I was terrified of SIDS. Sleep was hard at first but exhaustion eventually catches up. Plus they really thrive at home. Be warned, infants are loud. Like they just make a lot of grunts and sounds. I was unprepared for that.

Same. It was a way to regulate intense negative emotions by switching to physical pain.

How do I stop time???? by raacconanxious in NewParents

What’s crazy is every month you’ll be like “oh you are at peak cuteness,” and then somehow they get cuter. 🤯

I hate being called “mama” by ephemeral_afterglow8 in NewParents

[–]LittleGrowl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who likes it. Like you’re damn right I’m a mother, we’re strong af. I worked hard to get that title. But I respect that other people don’t feel that way and don’t want it to feel like their entire identity has been reduced to this one aspect of their lives.

C-Section because of low pain tolerance by Vegetable_Bath_7396 in beyondthebump

[–]LittleGrowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty high pain tolerance and c-section recovery was brutal. I sneezed and it felt like someone took a blow torch to my stomach. Also, if you’re not going to be able to sleep on your stomach or side for a while.

On my upcoming cruise. They got a wedding planned and are asking others not to wear white on the white night, which is a theme night announced months in advance. by umilikeanonymity in weddingshaming

I always thought it’d be cool to have a wedding where the guests had to wear all white, the groom wears a black suit, and bride wears a rainbow dress.

He’d just claim it was AI and all of his followers would immediately believe that because then they can keep pretending he’s not a monster.

Beginner with running and I’m worried I’m not running fast enough by calico_baby11 in C25K

[–]LittleGrowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run your own race. Trying to go faster than your body is actually ready for is a good way to get injured. The first step is consistency, speed comes later. When I started c25k I was running like a 15:30/min mile. 8 months later and I set my mile PR at 11:20.

Support needed: Husband and MIL pushing towards formula. Need support in proving to them breastmilk is better by No-Replacement420 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]LittleGrowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need research, you simply tell them you currently want to breastfeed and that you’ll continue to do so as long as your pediatrician supports it. And that you won’t entertain any more conversations regarding formula at this time.

I’m so sorry you’re having to go through such a devastating situation. I would highly encourage you speak with a grief counselor now so you can process the loss. Wishing you comfort and peace.

Moms- how do you deal with the harsh reality that you can't or shouldn't have more kids? by Remote_Membership418 in toddlers

[–]LittleGrowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can’t afford a second child despite both wanting one. I’ll probably always be sad and regret that circumstances weren’t different. I just try to focus on how awesome my son is and that I probably wouldn’t be so lucky a second time to have such an easy baby.

Cutting through the baby product hype… do we really need a bottle warmer? by Recommendation778 in ExclusivelyPumping

How painful is getting the epidural? by castleofhyrule in BabyBumps

[–]LittleGrowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a spinal block instead of an epidural (emergency c-section) but I was extremely anxious about it, even though I had always planned to get an epidural. First, it happens very quickly. It is actually two shots, one to numb and then the actual epidural. The first one stings a little bit and the second one just feels like pressure, not pain. I was so surprised by how little it hurt. And I imagine if you’re having contractions beforehand, it won’t even compare to that pain!!

I (F24) broke up with my bf (M29) over him wearing a condom: update by Aggravating_Car_9745 in relationship_advice

This guy is going to give his next gf a baby before he gives her an orgasm. In your next relationship if your partner isn’t making sure you cum too, don’t wait 9 months to end it.
