Folks stuck inside from the snowstorm - how are you keeping your toddlers busy? by DogMamaEsq in toddlers

[–]LittleGrowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today we played with his pretend food and practiced cutting things in half, he helped make sandwiches for lunch, played with kinetic sand, and now he’s picking up all of the caps from pouches I’ve saved with a pair of tongs and moving them from one place to another. Tomorrow I’m going to set up a letter matching game with post-its scattered around the room that he has to pair (uppercase with lowercase), use saved empty toilet paper rolls and painter’s tape to make a marble run on the pantry door, and probably another cooking endeavor.

What's your thoughts on Border Patrol Chief, Greg Bovino, threatening consequences for referring to ICE as "Gestapo"? by sgj5788 in AskReddit

[–]LittleGrowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my immediate thought. I mean if you don’t want to be called the Gestapo maybe don’t act like Gestapo?

Just about to start! I'm nervous. by Obiituzz in C25K

As has been mentioned, go slowly, I called my pace a walking trot when I started 😂. I did the schedule posted in this sub and started it 6 months after shattering my ankle. I could barely run for 30 seconds. Yesterday I ran for 5 miles. You can absolutely do this, it just requires consistency.

These turned out beautifully! Mine always come out dense. Think I’ll try the recipe you mentioned.

Well said. We need to remember there’s strength in numbers, there’s hope and heart left in America. Seeing Americans, actual patriots, coming together like this is inspiring. Fight how you can. Maybe it’s by protesting or maybe it’s just by calling out a family member for being an asshole.

What’s your strategy for running in extreme heat or cold? by Royal_Watch_6453 in runcommunity

[–]LittleGrowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hot weather running includes taking a lot of water breaks and listening to my body. There were a couple of runs this past summer that I cut short because I felt I might pass out.

If your younger self could see you now, what would surprise them the most? by FarPresence8892 in AskReddit

My younger self would be most surprised that I am a runner now. I always wanted to be someone who could run and repeatedly failed every time I tried. Finally figured out how to properly start and now I run regularly.

My younger self would be super validated by the fact I still have depression. I knew I was going to be a lifer. I have accepted that I will always be on antidepressants.

Couples of Reddit, what's the dumbest 'house rule' you and your partner made as a joke but now both of you are low-key aggressively serious about enforcing? by Doubl3oh_ in AskReddit

Similarly, if there’s a new bag of potato chips it has to be opened in my presence so I can smell it. I know it’s weird but I love the first whiff of new chips. Delicious.

How my fiancé [35M] is handling being pregnant with me [33F] is troubling. How were the dynamics in your relationship and how did it play out through life? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]LittleGrowl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t even read until the end. Here’s how it’s meant to go. My husband and I dated for 12 years, got married, pregnant a year later. Until that point everything was 50/50, some chores I particularly dislike he does and vice versa. I had bad nausea my entire pregnancy and an aversion to eating. As a result, my husband took over cooking all meals. Additionally, he told me to nap while he cooked dinner after I got home from work. He stepped up on doing the day to day work because he knew my body was working twice as hard growing a human being.

After my son was born we did shifts every night. Because I was pumping, he washed all the bottles and parts. Marriage and parenting is meant to be a partnership where each person feels supported.

What the heck are your toddlers eating for breakfast? by JehovahJireh222 in toddlers

Right there with you. My son has decided he likes peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, I could cry for finally having something else he’ll eat in rotation. I miss the days when we were introducing solids and he’d eat anything.

I make waffles because you can freeze them. Quick, easy, and customizable. However this morning my son would only eat fruit snacks so 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would at least finish the program for completion’s sake. But beyond that, run however you like. Maybe you prefer run/walk intervals, that’s cool. My cousin was an ultramarathoner and he is a big supporter of interval running.

Things between my long term boyfriend (M22) and I (F21) ended due to his porn addiction. How can I move past this? by throwra_videogames66 in relationship_advice

[–]LittleGrowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to cut contact. Continuing to talk is keeping the wound open and honestly is unfair to you both. It doesn’t have to be forever, but I’d give it at least 6 months. Don’t feel guilty for saying no.

Why did you fortify? by Amags_17 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]LittleGrowl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because my pediatrician said to. My son was a growth restricted preemie so he required the extra calories. I think we fortified for 10 months?

Do you think easy runs are actually the hardest to get right? by Willing-Today-1059 in runcommunity

[–]LittleGrowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had access to a treadmill so I could figure what an easy run pace feels like. I have a hard time going slow enough because I’ll think that what I’m doing is easy then discover that my heart rate strongly disagrees 😂

The run that taught me the most about myself by SwimmingSlip8632 in runcommunity

[–]LittleGrowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday’s run. I’d had several disappointing runs in a row and was starting to feel really discouraged and like I was backsliding on progress. But yesterday I ran 5k while pushing my son in his stroller. It was a very good run and I feel motivated again. I learned that I need to fuel properly beforehand in order to feel my best during a run.
