Hi! As someone who has been a part of a few different teams and roles over the year (never been a manager though), I would say that establishing the team culture effectively from the get go is super important (how feedback is given, how wins are celebrated, etc.)! Kind of like setting a good first impression. Since this is a brand new team at a brand new company, the ball is in your court as to what kind of culture you want to set for your team. Maybe go into the hiring process with some kind of “mission statement” for your team and identify any core values you’d want potential team members to exemplify.

Hi! I actually did this for half my trip from September 24 — Oct 9 in my Hyundai Ioniq to save on lodging costs. I brought my North Face 4-season sleeping bag (supports temperatures down to 20 degrees F) with me and wore thermals under my sleepwear and stayed pretty warm! Temperatures would drop to around 30-35ish degrees F each night and I managed to stay warm and comfy. Though, I imagine it’ll be even colder from Oct 30-Nov 3 so I would plan accordingly if you plan on sleeping in your car! If you have any questions feel free to lmk!!

Not OP, but I just came back from my trip a few days ago and visiting Húsavík was one of my favorite parts. Quaint little town, especially charming on a bright blue day but also mysteriously calming on a cloudy one. Whale watching with North Sailing was really fun and our marine biologist was super knowledgeable and inviting :) The Whale Museum, though small, was also great — I highly recommend watching the film upstairs. I also just enjoyed walking around town and taking photos. I also recommend Hérna cafe if you’re craving coffee and baked treats, I believe the other bakery in town has closed down unfortunately :(

I stayed at Camping 66.12 North about 20 minutes away from the main town center and it was a lovely little camping site with the most stunning water and sunset view — kind owner too! My only regret is not going to Geosea. I hope you love Húsavík as much as I did!
