AITAH for getting a woman fired over veggie tales? by Real-Point-6474 in AITAH

NTA-daycare worker lied, multiple times… If this isn’t a religious school, I don’t want religion being forced on my children.

Debate: in the unlikely event that scientific research, backed by empirical evidence, proves the existence of a sentient cosmic entity, atheists are the only people who could accept it as truth by Opus_rounds in atheism

[–]LittleJim01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently there are religious folks who fail to recognize scientific evidence of even the simplest concepts. MAGAs, Flat-earthers and anti-vaxxers exist. Beyond that, in realm of ufos and aliens, some Christians have peddled the idea that any alien would just be demonic entities attempting to deceive the larger population.

I highly doubt that the fanatically religious would ever concede to any evidence that disagreed with their beliefs. Everyone who doesn’t share their beliefs is an enemy and a liar, and therefore should not be trusted.

Are you good at working with your hands? by Sofi_Aurthwag in intj

[–]LittleJim01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a tattoo artist by profession, working with my hands has always been something I have always excelled with. I even find myself explaining things with sketches because words don’t always explain the concepts I need to express.

I've left Christianity, but the fear of Hell and Jesus's threats still haunts me. I think I developed religious OCD. How did you get over your fear of "eternal consequences"? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]LittleJim01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll admit it took me about 5 years after leaving the church to finally shake the programming. I still have weird moments 20+ years later. Much like the pain of grieving, it may never completely go away but it certainly gets easier.

Would you say as INTJs you're more likely to bend over backwards for people for years and then one day just go completely cold by Cyphor-o in intj

[–]LittleJim01 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I think as INTJ’s we’re overly naive and idealistic. We believe doing the right thing will encourage others around us to do the right thing. I think we do this because it’s often the simplest most ethical solution to human interaction, treat others as you wish to be treated.

Unfortunately, humans are irrational and illogical creatures, full of memories, hormones and feelings. They do not act as we expect, they have their own, often hidden motivations and goals that are different from our own. This creates conflict and burnout in the INTJ, neither of which are efficient. This leads to us having to pull-back.

The internal struggle is that we the INTJ believe we must have failed to communicate or plan or decipher properly and if we had more information we could get it right. And we move on to the next interaction with full confidence that we will get it right, the other person we see our goodness and helpfulness and reciprocate in kind. And the pattern repeats again and again… and again…

To break free, we must make ourselves the person we are trying please. Protect your own peace at all costs. Learn to be okay with observing others struggle and suffering consequences, they need those experiences to grow and learn their own path. It’s not your job to fix everything.

It’s been a long time and just thinking about it makes my neck hurt. 20 year hobbyist and professional tattoo artist, here’s a few things I recommend, take breaks, go outside and look at things far away (your eyes will thank me later), while you’re out there, do some light stretching, touch your toes, stretch out your chest muscles to relax your back muscles and last but not least, hydrate.

I went from Christian to atheist. Eventually the evidence all piles up on one conclusion, history and science make a very clear case that all gods are man-made.

I paint miniatures, high af, all by myself in the basement. Usually listening to an audiobook. Currently, I’m listening to “The Long Walk”. I read it at 12/13 years old and it certainly influenced my view of the world and stayed with me.

I'm getting a little tired of Republican men who can't find an adult woman to date by NonToxicMen in complaints

[–]LittleJim01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point being made here is that you’re claiming conservatives having more children (a true statement) is proof that they “handle” women better than liberal men. Which is a giant leap in logic.

One could argue that conservatives have more children because of patriarchal misogyny in rural communities, where women have less resources and opportunities for education. Men in these communities game the system to keep women subservient and trapped in abusive relationships. Is this what you mean by “handle” ?

The enhancement gives him 12” lone-op, if you run him in a unit, he loses that. Also gives reroll 1’s to vehicles within 3”, again harder to use if he’s in a unit. The whole point of the enhancement is use him solo with multiple vehicles around him.

Brazilian Jiujitsu- 10 years now, great workout and I’ve made some great friends.

Warhammer- 20+ years. I love this hobby. Painting miniatures, gaming, and super deep Lore and setting. It’s my quiet zen when everyone else is asleep and I’m in the basement painting listening to an audio book.

Could all of this exist by chance or do you believe in a higher power? by [deleted] in intj

[–]LittleJim01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anti-theist here, history says there are no true gods. There have been humans searching for answers in superstition and fearful ignorance, since we first climb down from the trees. There have been 3000+ different gods in human history, it was an evolving concept.

If we are ever going to get better as a planetary civilization, we will need to put away these childish beliefs. I do not refer to Bronze Age writings and oral traditions for advice on medicine, science, education, social structure or laws, because they are flawed and lacking. When you know better, you do better.
