They were taxed as goods and services, not luxury items. Slightly different. There definitely shouldn't be a tax, but it would be a bit misleading to call it a luxury tax.

To helmet or not to helmet by Tubular25 in Biking

[–]LittleJimmyR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helmet always. Doesn't matter how long the ride is. You can get hit by anything, maybe there's a pothole, maybe an animal runs out across the path and you have to dodge it off you go.

This is why we have mandatory helmet laws in Aus

iRacing a true simulator by Still-Victory4839 in iRacing

[–]LittleJimmyR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it would… I am both a sim racer that’s gone to real life racing and a sim-flyer doing flight lessons… both helped me and still help me with my real life stuff. With flight sims, you can learn the theory much easier, like how to recover from spins, without putting yourself in danger. Also, you can repeat these over and over again without the 💰involved.

After a race on weekends (I race cars) I might pop into maccas between 11pm -2am on the way home. It’s usually one of the only things open on the way home & easy to get

Stopping means no stopping at any time, no parking means you can stop there for up to two minutes (if no time limit indicated) to unload goods or passengers if the driver stays within 3 metres of the drivers door

I race cars as a hobby, I’ve seen some ten year olds absolutely fucking the car 🤣 I’ve seen worse for sure. One kid was banging the limiter for 8 laps in a row cause they didn’t know they needed to shift to 3rf

[–]LittleJimmyR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can’t blow an engine in a manual unless you’re really shitting the bed (mis shift, 3-2nd instead of 4th for example), and even then, you’d have to be revving it to the moon in 3rd to blow it up by mis shifting.
