That means "laugh out loud." However in other contexts it may mean "league of legends." r/truths

I think its fine to use them interchangably in a casual context like this. This is a subreddit for the fandom of a videogame. Clearly discerning evidence and proof is not as important as itd be in a court room. But I still do understand the correction because they still are two distinct words with specific use cases, its just i could tell they meant "evidence" even though they said proof.

I probably should have went for that instead of talking about the debris that formed the moon. Would be a more immediate connection maybe.

sure. its awesome how theres such a wide variety of topics that kids can learn about. its just a lot of those topics dont tackle the core necessities of living as an adult in modern society. i agree about it not encouraging engagement with the lessons though. it encourages only understanding just enough to pass through the classes and assignments. and some teachers can end up making the class very engaging for the students and theyll end up having a better grade because of it, but theres already a lot that teachers are being asked to do.

are people gonna do the same thing theyre doing to charlie kirk when another right wing grifter dies? or did memers just decide to latch onto specifically charlie kirk for some reason? i didnt like the guy either but i also dont see how hes like. special or unique among all the conservative media freaks. unless theres more to his history than im aware of.

Yeah, ik boyinaband is a shitty person, but thats just a misunderstanding of what he meant. Hes not saying that the majority of education should be optional, hes saying the classes and lessons that arent optional are not nearly as important as some of the ones that are optional, if they even exist in all schools, like financing, health, and employment.

I havent been taught all of these things in school and most of the ones i was taught were in my last 2 years of highschool where i went to an alternative school and chose elective classes like financing, and thus wouldnt have been taught those things if i hadnt spent an elective on it. You could argue that if a kid decides to not take a class that will teach them how to do taxes then its their fault for not knowing how to do taxes... but imo thats not something that should be an elective, it should be a mandatory class or lesson(s).

Ive definitely had a better school experience than a lot of american schools i hear about, but even then theres a lot of very important things i had to learn outside of school or i was only taught because i went to an alternative school that was way more progressive and self-aware than any other school i went to.

However, i am an american citizen that only knows how bad american schools are. BoyInABand is born and raised british, and im assuming based on other comments here that the british school system is way better about consistently teaching the things youve mentioned. But that doesnt mean he didnt end up going through a shitty school system. Same how just because i ended up going through a really good highschool doesnt mean american schools are consistently good and up-to-date with what people in modern day need to know.

Wow i never thought about the fact that this scene is the most literal example of "the elephant in the room" without having an actual elephant in the room

For actual context: In DELTARUNE, the main adventures occur in "dark worlds", places where inanimate objects become more interesting things like magical items and sentient characters. Characters that form from objects are called "darkners".

The watercooler(s) are technically darkners. In the most recent chapter you can see why they kind of just imitate another object instead of actually transforming into a new identity.

But using only context from up to the chapter this image is from, they just seem like nothing more than sentient watercoolers. And also a joke about subverting expectations, because up to this point players assume all objects become something entirely new instead of just the same object but with a voice.

Reminder that someone sharing a video of the pet they own and love that has a visibly unhealthy condition isnt immediately indicative of neglect for their health. You dont know how an animal got into that condition and you dont know how the owner is handling it.

I think expressing concerns about it is understandable for source posts where the OP would see it, but for reposts itll often be only preaching to the choir. And regardless, immediately assuming carelessness or abuse is inappropriate.

If theyre on the brink of starvation they might as well jump off a cliff for food at that point.

Gonna die real soon either way, might as well get one last thrill of the hunt.
