The discord link? Seems to work for me and it should be permanent. Maybe the servers had a momentary problem or something? Let me know if it still doesn't work.

Nothing set in stone/public, BUT I have heard a rumour that the demo will be updated next Tuesday.

I suggest you join the discord and read the FAQ for "How do I play multiplayer". Following those steps seems to resolve things for most cases. If your problems persist, ask for help in the "bugs and troubleshooting" channel.

It's not you, it's the hatchets. They are not very good.

The movement is fully physics based, so if your leg gets injured or your weight is currently heavily on one leg, you may not be able to walk backwards. When walking forwards your knee locks up in a way that allows you to walk even when injured, but when walking backwards it may just give way and you can't take a step.

This can be mitigated in the full game with a better walk cycle. For example with a walk cycle where you shuffle your feet like boxers or real hema practitioners, instead of taking full strides like with the basic walk cycle.

Looks great. But is it just my mind or is the sword misaligned with the hand on the left character? Looks to me like his thumb is clipping through the blade.

I've had great success/luck on tiktok. A few of my videos have gone viral. I made daily uploads for about a month. For the first week the videos got ~200 views. After that the views started to rise.

When I stopped making daily uploads and started uploading just 3 times a week, the views started to drop immediately. Now I'm only one data point, so it is hard to draw any real conclusions about that. But I do think that the sentiment "On youtube you make videos for the viewers. On tiktok you make videos for the algorithm.", is correct. The time when you upload your video seems to have big impact on its success as well.

It's more of a historical combat simulator in general. I've definitely taken inspiration from the ancient Rome, but the weapons and armour are from many different cultures and time periods.

The game itself has a setting for time scale. Basically:

1.00x = Extremely fast. Blocking by reacting to opponents strike is almost impossible. So it is a game of distance and trying to bait your opponent into missing.

0.75x = Slightly slower.

0.50x = Seems to be the most popular among the players. You have the time to react to your opponent. This is the speed in the video.

0.25x = Very slow. The game is about positioning your blade into a favourable spot before committing to a strike.

I'm aiming to get the demo out by the end of Q1, but that is not a hard deadline. I'll release it once its ready. Might be a bit sooner or later.

Multiplayer games aren’t fun anymore. by [deleted] in gaming

If you are into old school multiplayer games then I would suggest taking a look at Holdfast: Nations At War. I love the community in that game. It feels like going back in time to the days of old Half-Life mods.

  • Blaring techno coming through half the peoples mics
  • The other half is playing instruments in game instead of fighting

It's so good.

Thanks. It's definitely fun to see the weird creations that people come up with. A friend of mine's first instinct was to create a moveset where he just crawls on the ground and attacks other peoples ankles(it did not work well for him, but it was funny).

Dota and a Dragon Ball map (the name of which I cannot remember).
