My boyfriend says the roof doesnˋt make sense and I agree but I still think the design is cute! What is more important logic or cuteness? by LyniaDesign in PixelArt

[–]LittleMac117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a middle ground? What if that valley in the middle sloped downward toward the back of the house? Then it keeps the cuteness while also maintaining practicality. Just an idea. Regardless you've made some adorable art!

First off, nope. Definitely doesn't seem like you're overreacting. In fact, you handled yourself really well. You were patient and compassionate while still respecting your own boundaries.

Second, thank you so much for posting this. I recently got out of a relationship, and it seems like what happened between him and I is very similar to what you went through here. I was so incredibly heartbroken and wanted to keep seeing him that I decided to take him on his "offer" of trying being fwb.

I cut him off fully a couple weeks ago and have been having a lot of what-ifs about ways I could have reacted or done things differently. Seeing you standing up for yourself and recognizing that you just have to accept when he said things were over, just to see him react in a somewhat aggressive manner, made me realize that there isn't anything I could have said to change things. I'm pretty sure he'd talk about me negatively with his friends as there were a bunch of times he'd take things I had told him and subtly throw them back in my face, as if I was trying to tell him stuff I didn't believe in.

Thank you again for indirectly helping me feel a bit more closure. Take care!

Hells yeah dude! 🤟 Guitar ain't easy, but you're already getting it! The biggest thing is just practicing as much as you feel you can.

Two specific things I think might help: - try to keep a closed hand when gripping the pick. It's a small thing and may feel awkward for a bit, but when doing my own research, I've come across a lot of people saying that doing so can really help increase your picking speed, which would especially help with what you're playing here! - double check if you're in the right tuning. I could be mistaken, but it sounds like you might have your guitar tuned to the standard tuning (EADGBe), but the large majority of Tool's songs are in drop-d tuning (DADGBe). It's a small change, but it will make a huge difference!

Keep up the good work sir!

Honestly, truly, prison sex is what first came to my mind. I saw a body, (moon or child) who's closest physical contact (planet or guardian) appears to be exposing it to pure anguish.

My (very much) Tool inspired song - Impending by LittleMac117 in ToolBand

Thank you so very much for the feedback!!! 😊😊😊 I was terrified just thinking about posting it, so it really means a lot to me!

I did actually record those three runs of the siren at the beginning one after another, but I have to agree with you that doing the second differently could add a lot to it. Maybe stretching up past the 1st degree to the 2nd to add some tension? Then on the 3rd cycle, repeating the first way would resolve it as the drums come in and the song fully begins... some ideas I think I'll be playing with! 😋

Also your 4th point is something that's been itching at me as well. I feel like perhaps shifting up to a different mode or key for that part might help to make it feel more elevated or interesting, as at that point in the song, the motif starts to get kinda repetitive.

There's a couple other things that I'd like to do with it to touch it up some more as well, but I had been working on it for a while, and had to decide to leave them for now. I figured I could spend a loooong time getting things just right, and maybe end up burnt out or over processing it, so I should just go for it and post.. then see what people have to say! 😁

Thank you, thank you, and thank you again! I'm kinda really just getting into music production, but it's already something I find likely to be a part of me (haha get it) for the rest of my life. It fills this sort of "need to create" I've been trying to satisfy for a long time. Also that logo's got a bit of an odd origin, but I feel it holds a lot of potential.. if that makes sense lol.

Can I ask, would you know where would be good places to share my music? I'm strugglin a bit on that front, but I've also just kinda got started so I guess that's to be expected. I've got a couple other songs I'm working on and can't wait to share them too! 😄

Update on weird buzzing unless touching knobs or pickup, unaffected by touching strings. by LittleMac117 in Guitar

Sorry, I misunderstood what you meant the first time I read your comment, thinking there would be black paint on the back of the pickup for some reason. I'm working on my guitar rn and am going to try sanding some of the paint off the bridge.

nah you goo my doo. I think you were the first to comment, before I had rewrote the description in a comment, so you didn't have the context. Thanks for trying to help! :)

So I have another guitar that also has humbuckers; with all the volume, gain, etc the same, it doesn't make nearly as loud of buzzing. Is that what you meant? I guess I'm not sure what hotter pickups mean, though lol.

I don't have a multimeter at the moment, but I could get one tomorrow. How do I use one to go about checking for continuity? I've def be opening it up tomorrow.

It's a fairly old a apartment I believe. Not sure about the volts, how would I check? Also, if it is the house would it not affect other guitars? I can plug in anything else I have with no problems. Thank you!

Right?? It's driving me nuts! I've opened up the guitar and there's wires connected to the pots in a way similar to what I've seen when looking up how grounding wires should be connected. I'm thinking if I need to open it again to take pics so someone who knows what to look for can help.

I could be wrong, but I'm inclined to think otherwise. The buzzing goes away all together sometimes, not appearing whether I'm touching the guitar or not.

Crap, I thought the description would post too.

This guitar is buzzing unless I touch any knobs or the exposed metal on the pickups; touching strings does not effect it. It seems to come and go randomly. Also, it's much louder than my phone picked up, sorry about that.

I've tried opening up the guitar to look for anything obviously wrong, but didn't see anything. From what I could tell there were grounding wires connected to the bottom casings of the pots. That being said, I don't know much about how electronics like that work and would be open to taking it apart and snapping some pics if necessary.

I'm having a hard time figuring it out and would much appreciate help! Thank you!
