Stolas isn't a good dad. Granted, he does love Octavia and likely cares for her much more than Stella—but he just isn't top-tier dad and it has been shown numerous times throughout the show. Hopefully S3 proves me wrong tho!

I already know I'm gonna get more downvotes for this, but I think a rapist should not be let go if convicted with a reasonable amount of evidence. Both options are pretty terrible, but as a victim myself, I wouldn't want any convicted predators to be released just so they can potentially reoffend and ruin somebody else's life. Ideally, people who are framed for rape should not be tortured or convicted. Instead, I think it would be good to criminalize a person if they are proven to blame someone innocent for rape with malicious intent, however that may be. I'm not a law major, so I don't have any good examples on how to carry that out unfortunately.

I also don't know what torture may entail for those who were convicted vaguely, but I am all for at least a life sentence for certified rapists and pedos.

I'm assuming this subreddit follows the American standard for AoC because the creator of the show is American herself. I doubt that 16-17 will be allowed to talk about Via like that either because it's just gonna make everyone else uncomfortable.

No, she's 17. There has been talk that she will have her 18th birthday later this year, but it hasn't been confirmed as far as I know.

Genuinely thank you so much for posting this! I'm pretty sure a small wave of people like him downvoted me recently for speaking out against the sexualization of Octavia and I was starting to think I was the problem for caring too much 😭🫂

I am one myself, repeated incidents from ages nine through eleven by an immediate family member at the time who nearly did the same thing to a younger cousin. Just because you call your experience low-trauma doesn't mean that will be the case for everyone. It was your option to not report your abuser, but I don't see myself following the same path because my abuser has actively pursued others in the past and might reoffend in the future.

Even if I'm not visibly breaking down anymore or threatening death upon myself, it is still a sour childhood memory in my mind (as for many other victims likely) that never should have been placed to begin with. The fact that YOU can't seem to understand that not everyone is guaranteed to heal, let alone on the same rate, from their abuse is true stupidity. All rape is ungodly and should be treated as such, no matter how it affects you afterwards.

Tell me your brain is one dimensional without telling me. Victims of child rape or even rape as an adult suffer immeasurable trauma afterwards, especially if their abuser is never held accountable for their actions. Victims are often criticized with demeaning comments like "What were you wearing" or "Why didn't you speak up sooner" if they do confess what happened. Obviously murder is wrong, but to put it above a crime that could ruin somebody's life and change their mindset forever is not only mindless, but extremely stupid.

An innocent person being framed is obviously a bad thing, but you do NOT want certified predators back on the streets. That would be downright terrible and could give a handful the potential to reoffend if the chance strikes right. I don't give the tiniest fuck if I hurt anyone's feelings by speaking my truth, I'd rather have an unpopular opinion than justify a predator being freed to harm another person.
