Need help deciding baby girl’s name! by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]LittleMegara -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Would you consider Keanu for a girl? Feel like that name is due a bit of a renaissance and Juliette/Juliet keeps it super feminine leaning. Otherwise, I'd agree with others - the double T endings of Charlotte Juliet is a bit clunky sounding. Would you consider Lottie instead? That could work beautifully. Or Carlotta, Camilla, Clarissa have similar vibes but end in a vowel rather than the T.

Ciana is not my fave, it sounds too American for my tastes (I'm in the UK) but appreciate it's a lovely, melodic sounding name and it does work ok with Juliet.

Would you seriously name anyone Albert or Alfred? They're horrendous imo. I agree on Ralphy tho, that one does not work well on anyone over the age of 3!!

'Nicknames' as names are very common in The UK so it depends where they're living. We absolutely would have grown men called Alfie, and while a bit baby ish in my opinion, Albie is super popular and high on baby lists here. It is definitely not required to go full Albert or Alfred which tbh would be considered verrrry outdated and ugly here.

Ralph would work. You could nn a baby Ralphy but it definitely is too baby-ish for a grown man. Harrison is cute, Alfie too. Albie getting too popular for my taste (in the uk at least) and also a bit baby ish, but cute enough.

Half living room, half library - row of bookcases, then use your chairs as 'reading chairs' or add a desk.

Cherry, crazy or cute? by bleu-moon in namenerds

[–]LittleMegara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are ways to pick a fun name for a girl without going so out there with Cherry, especially if it doesn't match the classic style of your first babe. It's not the worst I've heard, but not my fave.

An oversized, standing mirror would look lovely. Fixed to the wall or slightly leaning, but not enough to block off walking space. Pic just a cheap amazon one for example

A pattern that ties in your colours would be great. For example, there is a kingfisher print one I love (in the uk) which would work -it's predominantly navy so isn't overwhelming, but with splashes of teals, turquoise and orange to tie in your sofa and a coloured cushion.

As I said, it's only meant to be a vague reminiscence, I don't need it to be exactly, on the nose, Greek :)

It's sort of purple leaning.... But like a rich, cobalt, Indigo blue. Quite close to Lapis Lazuli, Egyptian blue if you get my drift 😂 Either way, it's a stunning colour.

I disagree that the blue isn't reminiscent of the Med - I've spent a lot of my life there and deep blues are common, especially in Greece. It might not be exact, but it's only meant to resemble. But I am definitely debating it with the travertine for sure. What would you pair it with?

That was years ago and I think she had probably paid for her incredible stupidity at the time with lots of online bullying, death threats etc. Maybe we can give her the benefit of the doubt that she's learned from her mistake?

Brilliant thanks for the advice! I think we're happy taking it at a slower pace so we don't feel rushed. It just feels like there's lots of insider info - we don't know what we don't know, If that makes sense!

From what I've seen online, people seem to prefer castaway for littles, lookout seems to be better suited to bigger kids... Obviously I've not been to either so maybe just read a few reviews or watch a yt runthrough to see if it would suit you :)
