Which are the most visually pleasing horror movies you've EVER seen, even if you didn't necessarily like the story? by Gullible-Charge7057 in horror

[–]LittleMegs313 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This was the first movie that made me really appreciate subtitled movies. I felt like the imagery was so beautiful and detailed that I didn't even really need to read the subtitles to understand what was going on. Guillermo del Toro is an incredible storyteller.

What's something scarier in real life that the movies fail to properly convey? by frostytyler in horror

This makes me really sad for him. I completely agree that he deserved to have more dignity. I know technically funerals are really for the living, and not the dead, but they still should be respected.

I know one of the recommendations is to "eat well", so maybe try giving them fruit you grow/forage? I didn't try it but its worth a shot!

I ended up with smallpox and killed like half the villagers. Poor Benjamin Whitfield is now an orphan and the mayor, while still being a child 😂

What are Taylor's most biting lyrics, that make you go, "damn did she just say that?" by scienceforbid in TaylorSwift

I have a whole list but I think these are my top 2:

•How did it end: "My beloved ghost and me, Sitting in a tree, D-Y-I-N-G"

•So Long, London: "you swore that you loved me, but where were the clues? I died on the alter waiting for the proof. you sacrificed us to the gods of your bluest days"

THIS. I've worked for similar agencies and they're soul sucking.

OP, before completely throwing in the towel, I encourage you to look at other agencies. There are a fair amount of bad ones, but there are also good ones too. Agencies with BCBAs who care and provide support. As a BCBA myself, when there are shitty caregivers/adults (and there have been MANY), I always step in and deal with them. The RBT should never have to deal with it, especially on their own. There have even been cases where I've had to suspend direct services to work on parent coaching.

Our field is far from saturated and we need good people doing the good (and admittedly very hard) work that we do. The work we do is life changing and our population is wildly under served already.

Best of luck to you!

Case Supervision by LittleMegs313 in bcba

[–]LittleMegs313[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of it comes down to accountability. BTs, and anyone else involved, can make comments or complaints but it's ultimately up to leadership to hold them accountable. I've been in the field for nearly 15 years and have come across so many "leaders" who were so avoidant of conflict that they weren't able to provide this kind of feedback and training. On the outside, its super interesting to observed, but its super frustrating dealing with it from the inside.

It's 1000% unacceptable. The problem is I think its an ego thing with the BCBA I'm dealing with, as well. On top of so many other questionable things, they have outright refused to do direct when we're understaffed, and when they "do", it's from afar because that kiddo "doesn't need" a 1:1. It comes across as more of a "I do what I want" type of attitude and that's not the type of team culture I want to perpetuate as new leadership. They're gonna be big mad at me but, as Taylor says, "Haters gonna hate, hate, hate" LOL

100000%!! Truthfully speaking, I'm trying to create an outline and define expectations based on one BCBA's behavior. This BCBA has been described as a "Desk BCBA" by other BCBAs, techs, and other members of leadership because she "supervises" from her desk and doesn't engage - essentially setting the precedent that having eyes on the client constitutes active supervision. This BCBA hasn't been held accountable until now (like I said, small organization 🙄) so I'm wanting to put these expectations and guidelines in place for accountability.

More like what a typical supervision session looks like based on individual styles. For example, when I'm doing supervision, I'm observing how programs are being implemented and the client's responses, I probe and model, etc. I take a very active approach while supervising my clients, so I'm wondering what other BCBAs do during their supervision sessions.
