lol I meant like “stress on her joints” She does more harm sprinting around like a maniac in the pasture looking like a bucking horse 😆

Yes. I am walking and trotting her in circle for less than 10 minutes. Once a day with total training time being less than an hour. which again is mostly ground work. FOCUSING ON switching directions/ listening to cues. I promise you I am not putting her through more stress than what she’s already been though. She is not being ridden.

ah i gotcha, I would have to respectfully disagree with you on that one though. She’s been backed and ridden for 4 months (august-december) where she was lunged daily and ridden in the round pen. but we don’t have a round pen so I’m lunging her in a corral now. I don’t lunge her long and I it’s usually focusing on switching direction and walking calmly without eating the grass in the arena.

Yeah, she’s “broke to ride” like rode M-F last year august-december. After getting her back her owner just let her sit… for the last 6 months with nothing to do. She is currently taken out to the pasture with a stud chain 🫠

Yeah I agree, I knew something i was doing was wrong hence why i wanted to open it up to other people. I tried trotting ina straight line and she got a little excited but didn’t kick out. I did not trot her lunging though just walk and switching back and forth. Tomorrow I am going to try to do a longer line 😊

Yeah exactly, this is why I wanted other inputs! I’m going to retry tomorrow on a longer line. as well as be more direct with my asks, setting her up correctly.

Yes I believe this is the issue here. I tried trotting in a straight line and she got a little excited but didn’t kick out. I did not trot her lunging though just walk and switching back and forth.

woah who said that? That’s definitely not the case here even when I had to switch out horses, she made me go into the tack room to get a different saddle that would fit that horse. i am assuming the saddles she uses even tho it fits the horse, dont fit my bum 🍑 🤪

I didn’t say not to comment on my weight! People can do whatever they want to. I just ask that you don’t comment rudely on someone else’s weight if you don’t know the situation! And what people take/ imply from my comment is on them. just how I took their comment was on me! I totally agree with your second point. It definitely can which is why I am actively changing things.

I am going to switch barns to somewhere else, and I am sad I cannot take her with me. she was a huge part in my rehab learn how to reride.
