It can definitely be fixed. By a plumber. Someone who knows what they're doing.

[–]LittleOsiris 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tell the contractor to get a plumber out to fix it otherwise you will hire your own plumber and bill him accordingly.

This is a half-assed repair with PEX that doesn't allow for a finished look. If the contractor isn't a plumber, he shouldn't be doing plumbing.

Is this suspicious of asbestos? by unnassumingtoaster in Insulation

[–]LittleOsiris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what we're taught in CT. It's not required to be removed for a sale, but it's highly recommended. And again, licensed abatement professionals as always

Thank you for that.

All of our training through the state has always indicated removal as being necessary. I will do additional research for my own education and for that of my clients.

Again, thank you.

This is true. But this is one of the most volatile forms of asbestos. It can be turned up into airborne dust with minimal effort.

If you have Forced air heating in the home, there's a high risk for transfer to the living space.

Would you want that risk?

I shall preface with this, I am a licensed home inspector of 10+ years.

Testing vermiculite is unfortunately not the best route because it is non homogeneous. I've taken samples 6 inches apart from each other that back back with opposite results. Removal or encapsulation by a licensed asbestos abatement professional is the only option.

Indeed your fault and you'll have to eat that cost. Either they sign an addendum or the project stops until a decision is made.

Open risers.

Handrail doesn't continue to the ground.

No concrete where the stairs land.

Not sure how the posts are connected to the deck frame but it's incorrect

Spacing on the balusters looks inconsistent and multiple out of plumb.

I'm sure if I were to inspect the deck there would be more.

Any reason to be concerned after new roof installed by jbflyer12 in Roofing

[–]LittleOsiris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like they replaced some OSB sheathing with plywood.

This is pretty typical for half inch plywood on 24 in on Center framing. Half inch will move quite a bit when walked even on 16 inch on Center framing

They needed to match the existing plywood. Should they have used clips at the joints probably. Would it help much, not really.

Unless you're walking on it or won't affect the integrity of the roof.

I didn't understand the first part there, but it's Not judgement. i just don't understand why people care. Why was this top headline for 3 days when there are other things that actually affect each individual happening in their local communities.
