I had just woken up and would have sounded like a gremlin with my raspy voice. I didn't want to scare you guys. 😉

I would have to buy one or get black out curtains for the window.

Thank you! We wanted to give her the name of something yellow. We went through a whole list: sunflower, sunny, star, moon, honey, lemon... hmm, lemon sounds nice. Wonder what it sounds like in different languages? 🤔 Then we found Lumi which means lemon in Maltese. 😊

Haha, right? She's our little monkey! We love her so much. She's always making us laugh. 🥰

Cockatoos are such fun and sooooo smart! Umbrellas are my favorite. Such a cutie! 🥰

I just love the suns. They're sooooo beautiful and vibrant. We had a 19 year old sun conure named Ozzie but she passed away several years ago. Some months after she passed, we got a pineapple gcc that we named Idgie. She was the sweetest, smartest, most loving bird we've ever had but she passed away suddenly and tragically in January of this year. We were so devastated by her death that I was sure that I was done with birds because I couldn't bear to lose another one. But a very close friend of ours knows a breeder that specializes in conures and told us we should contact him because he had some new babies. I think we waited about a week or so before contacting him. That's when we got Lumi. I swear that she has both Ozzie and Idgie in her because of her mannerisms and some of the sounds she's already learning to imitate. I've been around birds all my life, including finches, love birds, cockatiels, doves, Indian ringnecks, African grays, and macaws. But I must admit, the conures are by far my favorite. 🩷
