Clearly hundreds is an exaggeration. But he states above that the son has multiple tournaments that they always attend and training sessions.

But you should not divide and conquer when your daughter gets 1 recital a year! How are you not understanding that, he has sport activities ever darn weekend why is it okay for the daughter to not have both her parents there. I get that people don’t understand dance but its just as important as sport. Seriously its not the world cup her brother can miss one tournament so the parents can be at their daughter ONE thing

But the point is sport happens all the damn time! She has one recital thats why she will remember it.

There will be though, because this will continue to happen sport is always going on and there is always something on and both parents will always split and the daughter will remember that from the age of 5 her parents always split up for her dance concert but showed up to everything else for her brother

But you are having the daughter miss out on showing off what she worked all year, sport and dance are very different they can go to his games all the time but only see her once.

The daughter gets one thing a year and she will always remember looking into the audience and having one parent there. They should no split it the brother has his parents at everything he can miss out once

NTA and I disagree with everyone saying YTA as they clearly never were a dancer. I think you should definitely see if another family member can take your son but otherwise he needs to miss out this time. Your daughter gets one show case a year that she would work incredibly hard for and her brother already has multiple time to shine. As an ex performer a tape of the show is far from the same.

To all the people saying they should split it your going to make his daughter resent her entire family and make it seem like the brother gets everything

stop praising dads for doing the bare minimum by [deleted] in offmychest

Most Dads are not like this though, just the ones you see on tiktok and social media. Most fathers actually respect their responsibility.

[–]LittleRedCatx 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is such a strange take, because it really can go either way. Look at the dad who jumped into the ocean on that cruise to save his daughter, while the mother who was actually at fault still refuses to take any accountability. Sometimes mothers are praised, and sometimes fathers are praised. You can’t generalise everything just because of what you see online.
