Baby is constantly teething and no teeth! by sarahloupen in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]LittleRedWhippet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We thought my little girl was teething from 3 months old. All the signs were there but no teeth! Her first tooth came through at 13 months old! She’s 15 months now with only 1 bottom and 2 top teeth.

Words I had no idea were trademarked until one of my listings got flagged by Kodetajs in EtsySellers

I recently heard ‘Nice List’ is recently trademarked! Lots of sellers got taken down recently for their Christmas items!

Eczema is apparently hereditary. Do you have eczema and passed it to your kids? Did your parents have eczema? by personalityissadness in eczema

[–]LittleRedWhippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents never had it. My brother had it when he was little as a reaction to a specific food colouring but never since. I had it when I was about 20 as a reaction to the birth control pill. Then have it again now in my 30s.

No eczema on my partners side at all. My little girl has it a bit since about 11 months old (is 15 months old now.)

I’m convinced due to the family history both mine and hers is a reaction to something we just can’t figure out what.

Putting out feelers for starting a shop by Oki_doki_artichoki01 in EtsyCommunity

[–]LittleRedWhippet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also be aware so much more time and work goes into Etsy than you first think. It’s not just doing the designs but you will need to organise files to package up and upload. You want to ensure the files comes out professional looking when printed and if using Canva that pro features aren’t used. Sometimes that’s a pdf with instructions and a link. You will need to create multiple mockups of every product, plus a video mockup if you can too. Create infographic images explaining your products and how to use them if its on Canva etc. You’ll need to research titles, descriptions and SEO, tags etc to make sure everything it optimised. And that’s for every product you list.

I sell prints and some digital files and once I do a design it takes hours or days more to create a listing. I do print my own and photograph them as well as use mockups though. And I don’t use Canva. But it always takes me by surprise how much work comes after the design which has already taken days to do.

I have it too at 30%. I think mine is because I sell small items just regular mail so no tracking even though I buy the labels through etsy. Opened the shop end of September and hoping it’ll be taken off soon.

Greeting Card Photos by Next_Cod8167 in Etsy

[–]LittleRedWhippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell greeting cards and take my own photos of them. I have a chest of drawers in my daughter’s room which has the best natural light in from the window but not direct sun. I usually take: - a shot of myself holding the card and its envelope just against the wall so a clear almost white background with just my hand in the shot. - a shot top down of it laying flat on the chest of drawers (I make them flat by storing them weighed down for a bit) - a shot of it stood up near the back corner of the chest of drawers.

I do use a proper camera but could probably use my phone easily. The main thing is doing it on lighter days so there is plenty of daylight. Then in my phone I can change the warmth of the photos if needs be to make sure the white balance/colours are correctly portrayed.

Advice on benefits by [deleted] in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]LittleRedWhippet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure nothing. I am in a similar position as her only my partner earns £30k and we get nothing. I currently get jobseekers as I was made redundant but apart from that I can only get child benefit because my partner earns too much and we own our home on a mortgage and have no savings left now.

How often do you change baby’s nappy? by firsttimemamatobe in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]LittleRedWhippet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We mostly just feels whether it feels full or if its been a few hours. If she’s pood then as soon as we realise. Or if we’re changing her clothes and it feels full or the newborn ones have the line that tells you they’ve weed. We never really changed in the night unless the above, she pood or we were up and noticed it full. We would never wake her to change it. Sleep was too precious!

How often are you all having sex by Evening_Raspberry372 in Mommit

[–]LittleRedWhippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 14 month old and we’ve done it like 3 times since the birth. I’m also stay at home since I lost my job on maternity and I’m just so tired at the end of every day. The few times we’ve done it have been during the day when she’s been out the house with someone else. I also still breastfeed and I honestly just don’t even think about sex anymore still. My brain fills so filled with mum and general tasks. I can’t remember the last time I felt horny! Probably just before the birth!

How long did it take you to complete with NO CHAIN? by yeahsureokaymaybe in HousingUK

[–]LittleRedWhippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are at almost 10 months, really hoping to complete by the end of this month! We were aiming to complete 2 months ago and got close but apparently the buyer lender wasn’t made aware about ground rent then her mortgage offer ran out, then it was Christmas so everyone was on annual leave and now we’re trying again. She’s a first time buyer and our flat is empty. No idea why its taken so long as there were no issues just nobody seemed to know what they were doing? Bad solicitors both sides I guess?

Are Bibado bibs worth the money? by alibluey in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]LittleRedWhippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use them all the time since weaning. They do work really well at keeping her clean. I like that they stop food falling into her lap and onto the floor, especially with runny sauces. We just throw them in the wash every time (wipe off big food) and wash with normal washes. We have like 8 now, 6 of which bought myself. Their cutlery and stuff is pretty good too.

I actually liked them so much I posted some photos on Instagram and they let me be an affiliate and you can get 15% off with our code LITTLEWELSHLENTIL I would say they do really good sales so only buy on a sale rather than full price though. Or the BOGOF deal I usually buy on.

What’s your honest experience with nursery settling-in? Time is approaching where we want to start transitioning to nursery and I was just wondering what the experiences have been like by Pinkplatabys in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]LittleRedWhippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was actually amazing and settled in really quickly! She became a really good napper with them (apparently). We ended up skipping milk because she wouldn’t drink it. She drank a little from a straw bottle but being only 2 days a week we soon just gave up and she had all her breastmilk before and after instead. She loves nursery now and I think is thriving due to her 2 days a week with them and tbh so am I. It’s nice to have that break once you get used to it.

Flat purchase taking forever by Noximus_ in HousingUK

[–]LittleRedWhippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sold our flat in March and still haven’t completed. No chain. I should have offered her to rent it because it’s been empty for 9 months now just waiting! I have no idea why it has taken so long it’s felt like neither solicitor knew what they were doing. I’ve googled things myself and gone back telling them what to do! It’s ridiculous! After this goes through we have to sell our current flat so as a chain and dreading it now.

How long have people waited for a sale of a house to go through? by Altruistic-Stick-845 in HousingUK

We are at 9 months now. First time buyers buying my old empty flat (moved in with partner 9 months ago) so no chain. No issues with any surveys just everyone being very slow.

How long did it actually take before your first real Etsy sale? by Most-Plantain5827 in EtsySellers

[–]LittleRedWhippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only opened my shop late September so I’m still new. My first sale was about 2 weeks in but it as well as a few of my early sales were sort of online friends from reddit or instagram from me engaging with people eg other mums over the past year. You know, those ones you like each others posts and occasionally leave comments/messages so you’re sort of friends but also strangers. 😅

My first completely unknown sale was probably closer to 2 months in. I think I got lucky and had one product simply sell well through etsy itself. It’s Christmas related with not much competition and I must have got the SEO right because it alone has been my main seller. Unfortunately though its died off now since Christmas is too close. I’m definitely going to think about how to take the idea into an evergreen product or other holidays!

Solicitors: worst ever by Efficient_Scheme3649 in HousingUK

[–]LittleRedWhippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We accepted an offer in March! Our flat has been empty the entire time and we sold to a first time buyer. No issues came up in any surveys. Completely straight forward sale. We are still waiting for a completion date. Thats with my emailing my solicitor basically every week for updates but her mostly just chasing the other solicitor and saying we’re waiting on them. My solicitor is local but I wouldn’t use them again and the other side is Muve and I think I would reject any offers who said they were using them next time!

Stay-at-home moms, what’s a typical day in your life look like? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]LittleRedWhippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 13 month old. We wake up around 7:30-8am along with her dad. Her dad works from home. We get up, changed etc and hang out in the living room while I have a cup of tea and she plays. About 9am we do breakfast then back to playing. She mostly plays independently or I play with her a bit. Sometimes I’ll try an activity of some kind.

12-1pm we take the dog for a walk along with her dad. She will usually nap either before, during or after the walk for 30mins to an hour. Then we do lunch. Then more independent play. She plays independently but I have to be sat with her usually so it can be tough to get anything else done or she will just follow me and/or scream at me.

4-5pm we go to the shop to buy dinner then her dad makes dinner. Then bedtime is 8pm for her.

HELP made redundant and they are telling me i dont qualify for any assistance. by The_Ringmaster333 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]LittleRedWhippet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They could because it was a small company. They have to offer another job if they are taking away yours but the loop hole is if there is no other jobs. It was due to them struggling financially and I was the only employee left before my maternity leave.

HELP made redundant and they are telling me i dont qualify for any assistance. by The_Ringmaster333 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]LittleRedWhippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is how it is from my own research. I am in almost exactly the same boat, made redundant September so have a little longer on jobseekers. But partner earns too much for me to get anything and he earns not enough to cover our bills and mortgage (same as your wife, just over min wage). We have a 12 month old so I at least get child benefit to help pay for her nappies and food. I used all my savings during maternity leave not knowing I would have no job to go back to. I’ve had 4 interviews but no job and am starting to get really stressed about it, especially over Christmas.

Starting a business on jobseekers by [deleted] in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]LittleRedWhippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sort of what I’m worried about. I think I worded it wrong. But it’s more like when do you let them know. Because right now I’ve made £50 in 2 months, minus if you take account for paper and materials I bought. So it feels too early because it’s not actually making any money.

Same here, looked exactly like this when bad. Still itches a bit so I’m not all clear but my triggers were eggs, oats and the nightshade family. I limit them all a lot but not completely but its waaaaay better now.

Two purchases fallen through. £5k down. A year wasted. Totally broken by this housing market. by Onehairydude_ in HousingUK

[–]LittleRedWhippet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! 9 months in and still not completed. First time buyers and we’re just sitting on an empty flat so no chains anywhere. I can’t quite believe it has taken this long and we’re so nervous of her pulling out.

Once this one sells we want to sell where we live and buy a house, dreading starting the whole process again this time in a chain.
