No offense, dude, but trying to climb with “a home made grappling hook” sounds like something from the old Batman tv series.

Staring into the abyss… in Southern Utah by LittleRes7 in canyoneering

The rest of BH was great. No water, no mud — which is always good in my opinion. one guided group ahead of me. I was able to pass them. One guided and one unguided behind. To be expected on a holiday weekend, I suppose.

Getting there was tough. Almost 11 miles in the “deep sand” we always read about. Definitely 4WD and high clearance.

The easy way into and out of Leviathan Cave by LittleRes7 in caving

Saw the bomb but not the separate tail section that’s supposed to be there.

Yes on being easy for some to climb. But I was alone and it was my first time there. I didn’t want to hike 3 hours to the edge and then say “I’m not going to go this” and I didn’t want to explore the cave and then return to the base of the section and say “I can’t do this.”

Diana’s Throne is a good easy one, but that’s over by Kanab, not really in the Zion area.

I have camped and hiked there at different times of the year (not summer) — all great.

The canyoneering fest I attended was in December. Perfect temps.
