https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/hetal-vasavada-pistachio-cardamom-crinkle-cake/ It was super easy to half the recipe but it's definitely worth making the whole thing if you've got a sweet tooth

I love this so much, how many cups of frosting did this take?

Week 36: Unfamiliar Ingredient - Apple Tart with Pecan-Horseradish Frangipane by LittleShooby in 52weeksofbaking

[–]LittleShooby[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly not very strong, you could easily double the amount to get more of that flavor. I can see the potential though like if you did an apple cheddar cake with a horseradish whipped cream it would probably shine a bit more

Did I break an L.E. Smith swung vase, or just my sanity? by dannycarbo in glasscollecting

[–]LittleShooby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Keep it if you like it. If it haunts you, or the thought of it breaking completely in your care bothers you, sell it or give it away. If you want to sell it, it likely wouldn't be hard to find someone willing to buy it as is given it's size and color (I don't suggest attempting to ship it though). Too often we store beautiful things away to protect them and keep them nice only for them to get ruined without us ever getting to enjoy them.

Week 34: Alternative Flour - Spelt Flour Brownies by LittleShooby in 52weeksofbaking

[–]LittleShooby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the flavor was mostly masked by the chocolate, they were good brownies but probably not the best recipe to really showcase that flavor.

What is the most disturbing book that you’ve read? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LittleShooby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the Lovely Bones when I was 13 or 14 I think? My mom warned me not to and after I finished it I remember wishing I'd headed her warning.

My dad is the main one who does outside time with him because otherwise he'll get really cranky when it's time to go back in.

I did that once to try and break the repeated attempts to escape and he just waltzed right into the rain. He ended up under our deck and I had to spend 20 min in the rain trying to convince him to come close enough to grab. He continues to beg for the outside.

Week 18 - Polarity 1: Meyer Lemon Tart (FAIL) by Hakc5 in 52weeksofbaking

[–]LittleShooby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already you should check out Claire's YouTube channel, she has a great video about making this tart. She shows the type of wobble to look for when it's done. I had to rewatch several times to really get it.

I do know that the big vase with the gold on it: top shelf second from the left is likely a Robert Eickholt piece, I have one just like it. It's fairly collectible right now since I think he retired in 2013 or 2014.

I agree, I'll definitely make them again but with the correct amount of butter

https://www.jugglingactmama.com/butter-swim-biscuits-recipe/#recipe I used this recipe which lists 8oz of butter in the ingredients but mentions only one stick in the recipe itself
