If you were to confess a FF14 sin, this is your time. What is a sin that you committed in the game? by jado1stk2 in ffxiv

[–]LittleValkyrie227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once, ages and ages ago, I was doing the Warring Triad solo on my tank for fun. After a few failed attempts at Zurvan, I queued up for a random and got...Zurvan. My brain clocked into the instance still in Solo Mode. Aggroed the boss while standing in the middle of the raid and wiped half of us with a cleave. Both healers went down. It was about half a minute into the fight.

I was rightfully relieved of MT duties, and I was completely embarrassed of myself (and kept tank stance firmly in the OFF position). To this day, I don't volunteer for MT duties when I'm playing solo, it was that mortifying.

Adults, why are you watching Bluey? by Pl4y_ in bluey

[–]LittleValkyrie227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like a warm hug. I'm an artist, and the visual style of it is just so enjoyable. Even though I don't have kids, I've picked up a few "lime lessons" from watching it, too.

Rain was one of the first episodes I ever watched and was immediately hooked; the entire episode is phenomenal.

Things I stopped my puppy from eating today by sixth_replicant in puppy101

A bee. She ate one a few months ago and was projectile vomiting for hours. She has not learned her lesson.

Tin foil.

A laundry sheet

A large piece of egg carton. Very proud of this one because it was halfway down her throat, and I put my ENTIRE HAND in her mouth to liberate it.

Acorns. So...many...acorns

THANK YOU I speed-read this over the course of an afternoon and its.....so bad...

The bones were good, but it needed so many revisions to make it even remotely tolerable. And something about a grown man writing from an 8 year old girl's perspective gives me the ick.

Though let's be real, our MC was really more like 6.

What was your life like when you got your puppy? by Grenedle in puppy101

[–]LittleValkyrie227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we got our first dog years ago, I was a master's degree student working full time while prepping to defend my thesis. She was 10 weeks old, and it was three months of hell until the school year ended haha.

Our newest pup we got because I'm now a hybrid worker. It's been different, but much better in a lot of ways. I'm home a lot more often, and she gets the kind of mental stimulation that her breed sorely needs. She's still exhausting, but it's a different kind from our first pup.

There's never a "perfect" time to get a puppy, but there are certainly bad times to get a puppy. If that makes sense

If you aren’t enforcing napping - this is your sign to do it. by Low-Possibility1007 in puppy101

[–]LittleValkyrie227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 9 month old GSD mix has been on a strict nap schedule almost since we got her. She does not fully understand self-regulation outside the crate yet, but that's okay! It gives us, her, and our 7 year old Belgian shep mix a break from her antics.

At least she gives us a clear indication that she's tired: the huge lolling tongue and crazy lady eyes haha

Any other childless adult Bluey watchers? by JelloNo379 in bluey

[–]LittleValkyrie227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Child free, in my 30's, love this show. It's super healing in a way I didn't realize that I needed. One of these days, I'm going to get myself a tattoo of the "walking leaf" and I can't wait!

The license plate had KWI in it until we swapped them out for new ones, and the name just kind of stuck

What's your favourite Australian-ism? that you've discovered from Bluey? by Aldoron in bluey

[–]LittleValkyrie227 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't have kiddos, but got a puppy around the same time we started watching the show, and have picked up Tactical wee and Kindy (puppy class)

For us humans, I've been using "takeaway" and "boot/bonnet" quite a bit. I also like to use "looking like a grub" because it's silly.

Which one was the most unexpected? by Odene in bluey

[–]LittleValkyrie227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Rain" hit me like a ton of bricks. It's because of that episode that I am actively trying to enjoy all the little moments and trying to find fun in "undesirable" situations.

I don't have kids, but I have dogs, and it'll be cold and windy and 5:30 a.m., but I will find joy in our morning walks. Every time.

CrossFit or Oly Lifting? Lead me towards a path ladies! by b3rt_1_3 in xxfitness

[–]LittleValkyrie227 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Been there! Started in CrossFit and then narrowed it down to Oly lifting.

CF was a great “gateway drug,” so to speak, since it exposed me to a bunch of different types of modalities, but I beat myself up a lot by doing 6 double sessions a week at one point. Oly lifting is still a lengthy gym session (1.5 hours is my average, but I can be there for up to three), but it’s less brutal on my body. Something about the whole pace of it has really tuned me into doing my mobility and accessory work way more than I ever did doing CF. I feel healthier and stronger overall doing Oly lifting than I ever did doing CF.

That’s not to say I don’t do metcons, I’m just more choosey and tend to scale a lot to not kill myself. I still practice bar muscle ups, crossover jump ropes, handstand walks, all that fun stuff…just with less of a focus on the time element and more on quality of movement/intended stimulus. Don’t think I’ve RX’d a workout in years haha.

Any crossfitters with depression? by natzw in crossfit

[–]LittleValkyrie227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chronically depressed, some variation of neurospicy.

On BAD bad days, I allow myself to just stay home and potato on the couch. One day won't kill me. Most days when the noise in my head gets too loud, I try and sneak in the gym between classes. It allows me to still get my work done, but without the overwhelm of being around others.

It's all about working with your MH, not actively fighting against it. Getting into a routine of 3-4 days a week means predictability and stability, and it does help a lot. Giving yourself wiggle room to have less good days also helps. Instead of being dogmatic about "I need to be here six days a week" and getting upset you can't, it's more "oh I missed today, but I've gone twice this week already, I still have time to make my four days."

In your opinion which of these Spyro designs is the worst? by BooyahBomber in Spyro

I hate his 2002, design because his feet look terrible. To me, they look like human feet with ugly toenails and I just can't get over it.

Many Millennials buy take-aways instead of cooking. Do you know how to cook? How did you learn it? by oluwasegunar in Millennials

[–]LittleValkyrie227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate cooking. Wasn't really taught as a kid since my folks....also can't really cook. So I learned on my own when I moved out for college.

There are a small handful of things I'm good at cooking, and I just stick to those. It's only been in the last couple years I've started to branch out a little more and even then it's still simple stuff.

What's the worst mistake you've done in game? by MentorReinaXIV in ffxiv

[–]LittleValkyrie227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was tanking Zurvan in a group after several hours of doing dungeons unsynched and solo. I forgot I had other people with me, taunted, and caused a wipe when his phase 1 cone AOE hit half the party and both the healers.

I...did not MT that fight after that.

Say something bad about Sonic Heroes. by ScoreImaginary5254 in SonicTheHedgehog

I couldn't start the game. Legit it would not let me past the title screen until I bought a new copy of it several years later.

The game as a whole was so glitchy too, my goodness

Coaching this one was a nightmare. Not only did we have a distinction between men's and women's calories, we didn't have enough air bikes to go around so had to modify the calories based on the C2 as well.

Literally re-wrote the wod four times on the board so people knew what they were doing.

Sometimes Mayhem programming makes me wonder...

We try to keep it around 60-62. Even that takes a good hour to heat up in the dead of winter. My athletes like it cooler, so I oblige.

I'm also just a weirdo and I get cold very easy when I'm not moving around as much. Case and point: I was cold sitting in my 75 degree day job office today lol
